I yelped as bacon grease splashed up from the pan and hit my wrist. I shook my whole arm to ty and alleviate the sting and remove the grease. Dammit, Dean, you weren't supposed to leave until after breakfast.
"What's going on?" Jack asked as he entered the kitchen, dressed in a plain white t-shirt and grey basketball shorts.
"I'm making breakfast." I told him, turning the stove off. I plated the bacon and sighed, looking at the red mark on my arm.
"Did you hurt yourself?" He asked, gently taking ahold of my arm.
"Its okay." I shrugged, taking my arm away so i could work on the pancakes. Once those were finished, I put them on a big plate and put it on the table next to the bacon.
"Help yourself." I told Jack, sitting at the table and putting food on my plate.
Jack sat next to me and did the same, copying my actions. "Thank you for breakfast." He grinned.
"No problem." I smiled, eating. The pain on my arm still hadn't subsided, but I was used to much worse pain.
After breakfast, I began to wash the dishes. No sense in leaving the bunker a mess while the boys went off on their hunt. Besides, there wasn't much else to do.
I felt two fingers gently touch my arm where the burn was. The pain was instantly gone and the red mark was no where to be seen. I turned to Jack, in awe. How did he learn to do that?
"Jack you.... You just healed me..." I tilted my head in confusion, unable to process this. Just yesterday, he couldn't even lift a pencil off of the table. Now he could heal a small burn on my arm?
"I just wanted to help you." He shrugged, smiling innocently.
"Thank you." I smiled, giving him a small hug. I pulled away quickly and turned back to the dishes. I didn't know how well Jack would take to my hug.
"Can we.... do that again?" He asked softly, as if he was afraid to ask me.
I turned to him, watching as he looked at his feet. "You want to hug again?" I asked for clarification.
Jack nodded and I smiled. I carefully wrapped my arms around his neck and shoulders and snuggled my face against his neck. His arms hesitantly curled around my waist in a gentle embrace.
"Thank you.... I-I needed this.." He whispered against my hair.
"Me too, Jack... Me too." I muttered, gently withdrawing from the hug. I offered him a smile, turning back to finish my chore. "When I'm done with this, do you want to watch a movie with me? I know a lot better movies than the ones Sam gave to you."
"Okay. I'd like that very much." I didn't need to turn around to know he had that adorable little smile on his lips again. I'm glad he could find happiness and joy in this crazy, fucked up world. Chuck knows I couldn't.
~~~
I sat against the headboard of my bed, Jack sitting cautiously next to me. I turned on Netflix and began playing "Moana." I'm sure Jack would enjoy such an amazing movie.
After a while, I curled up against Jack's side, yawning. His arm wrapped around my waist and I cuddled further into him.
"You're warm." I muttered, feeling sleepy.
"Is that a good thing?" He asked, gently playing with the ends of my hair. Whether he was doing it absentmindedly or not, I didn't know nor care.
"Mhm." I responded with a slight yawn. My eyes drifted closed and it took mere seconds for me to fall asleep. Why it was so easy to fall asleep in Jack's arms, I had no fucking clue. Whatever the reason, I enjoyed it, as well as every feeling Jack gave me.
