New story.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was walking from my lifted Chevy truck. My boots dropping mud from this weekend mud ride. My truck coated with red clay. I was waved into the office. "Devin, I would like for you to show Kaylie and her friend Ame around." That's when I met the city folk. "Hi, im Kaylie." The shorter girl said and I smiled and Ame waved "and I'm Ame." I shook their hands.
"I'm Devin, let's get you settled." My southern drawl thick, and smooth. "What Y'all do for fun?" Ame asked "party and mud riding." I said and they nodded, they are in all my classes. "Everyone I would like y'all to meet, Ame and Kaylie." Mrs. Tucker said. "Hello." Everyone said making their eyes widen. "Southern hospitality," I said and they took the seats behind and beside me. "Do you need a ride home?" I asked Kaylie and Ame "yeah, to my stepmom and dads house." Kaylie said I nodded "I'll take y'all home then. Also, I hear the hate in your voice." She looked at me.
"I don't like her," Kaylie said looking at me. I nodded "well, here's my number as well." I handed them a piece of paper with my name and number written on it. They nodded, keying it into their phones. Throughout the day we talked and I explained things. It was now the end of the day, and we were walking to my truck. Their eyes bulged out slightly from the height and mud. "Damn son." They said in unison. "Yeah." I opened the passenger door for them.
Once they were in I closed it. I got in on my side started it up and rumbled to life. They were shocked "Y'all never been in a truck that's been modified?" I asked and they shook their head's no. I backed out and drove to her house, with her help of course. I'm only ten minutes from her house, that's cool.
I got out and opened their door. They let me come in. Her stepmom walked in, now I see why she hates her. "Finally your home." The attitude, has me riled up. "Oh, hi I didn't see you there." She looked at me and her face contorted into a smile. "Yeah hi," I said monotone. I ignored her, turning to face Ame and Kaylie. "If y'all need me call me. I have to get to my job." I said, "where you work?" They asked, "on a farm." I gave Kaylie and Ame a quick hug and left.
After, a moment I arrived at Richie's farm. Kyle  Richie father. Today, since it's after school, is to feed the hogs, cows, horses, and dogs. Tomorrow is harvesting, plowing, and feeding. I was feeding the hogs when Kyle came home from football practice. "Hi, Devin." Kyle waved "hi!" I said through breaths, as threw hay over the fence for the horses. Sweat drip down my forehead, soaking my T-shirt more.
"Here, Devin my father wanted me to get you some sweet tea." Kyle handed me the cold glass of tea "thanks, Kyle." I sipped it gingerly as I rested for a bit. "I overheard my father say he gonna raise your money, from 5 hours to 15 dollars." I looked at Kyle, eyes wide. "For real?!" I exclaimed excitedly, he chuckled nodding. "But I'm not sure when." I nodded, handing him the empty glass. I have one more; cows to feed.
I groaned slightly exhausted, almost time for me to end the night. The sun was down, the stars are out, and only thing lighting my way is the three barn outside lights.
Ten minutes later, I'm saying my farewells and heading home. I was met with a warm plate of food and smiling parents. "How's it?" They asked "good." I thanked mom and dad for the food. After I finished I headed up to my room. I grabbed clean clothes; pajamas. And went and showered, thoroughly.
Forty minutes later, I'm currently dried and dressed. I went to my room, put my phone on charge, laid down, and watched tv as I dozed off into a calm slumber.
