This morning I awoke to screaming. I ran out of my room and saw my dad, Daniel, carrying my stepmom, Sarah, out of their bedroom. My dad yelled for me to get in the car and opened the passenger side door for my mom. I didn't have to ask what was going on, I knew exactly what was going on. My stepmom had been pregnant for 9 months, and now my new sibling couldn't wait any longer. When we got to the hospital they left me in the empty and quiet waiting room. I got on my phone to see what time it was. It was 2:27 a.m. I started texting my best friend Anglia. I thought she wouldn't answer, but I was wrong. She said "What do you want? It is 2:30 in the morning!" I said, "MY STEPMOM WENT ONTO LABOR!" She didn't answer immediately, but I excepted that of her. When she replied she said, "Really? What do you want the name to be?" There was no way to know the gender of my new sibling. The huge surprise was killing me. I replied, "Caleb or Lola. I don't know if it is a girl or boy yet." At that moment the doctors came in informed me that my new sibling had been born and I could come in now. When I walked in and saw his little face and hands, it felt like the wind was knocked out of me. My dad told me his name was Gabriel as he cradled him in his arms. We stayed there for another 2 to 3 days, becoming closer and closer to the new addition to the family.
