Blood in the snow pooled while he lay on his stomach. No sound was made. No movement could be detected. You know he's like this because he just didn't know when to back down from a fight. And yet, with your love lying face down on the cold ground, you can't process anything except...denial.

He's such an idiot.

"Zoro!!" You call out to him, a body of ice cold water separating you from your crewmate. The battle had taken its toll and left everyone injured and broken. Luffy had gone on alone in a fit of murderous rage to fight the final opponent as you stand there, not being able to run to the man you cared about so deeply. You looked around the frozen tundra for help, not seeing anyone except your own nakama who were all in the same state as Zoro was, walking their own lines between life and death. You couldn't feel the cold, the temperature dropping well below as the night overcame the chilling battlefield. All you felt was pain and guilt. You wanted to cry for them. You wanted to scream. How could you let this happen? How could you do this??! You've never felt so weak, so shell-shocked. You hurt your nakama, the only kind of family you had since you were abandoned on the streets. You put your pride above their well-being as you ran off with your weapons drawn to advance on the oncoming army merely hours before. You left them behind as you pushed off on your own, not caring what happened to them and instead focusing on the enemy who insulted your captain.

After having polished off the army, you came back to your senses and got worried, frightened, even, about your crew's whereabouts. You ran in the direction of the sounds of metal on metal, fighters screaming out their attack names in guttural voices. For a second, you thought everything was fine, that everyone was holding their own somehow and the Strawhats would win. But then came the explosion that rocked your world, crumbling the foundation that you built your faith on. You could see a straw hat in the distance that had blown off into the air, gaining altitude from the blistering winds. Terror gripped your heart in a cold iron fist as you stumbled a few steps, eventually tearing into a blind run towards the explosion. The sound of the explosion rings in your ears, still, as you stand motionless before you're fallen crewmates, before the fallen swordsman.

He's such an idiot...

He's such an idiot he's such an idiot he's sUCH AN IDIOT HE'S SUCH A -

"ZORO!!!!" You scream, tears threatening to pour out from your eyes and freeze like crystallized bullets on your skin. "Wake up!! Wake up, damnit!!!"No answer.

"RORONOA ZORO!!! Don't you DARE think of dying on me!! You're gonna be the world's greatest swordsman who ever lived. Only the craziest kind of freaks go after such an absurd dream! You're a freak, aren't you?! ANSWER ME, ZORO!!!"

No movement. The blood is seeping into the hair you love so much. The three gold piercings are being tainted, slowly rusted by the acidic liquid spreading around him. None of the other crewmates are any better. Fear finally shatters the strength in your knees as you collapse into a shivering heap on the icy floor, the blizzard whipping and howling around you.

"Don't do this," you beg, the gloves covering your shaking hands coming up to cover your face. "Zoro. Everyone. Don't leave. We need you. Luffy needs you...

"I need you."

Suddenly, you hear a splash. Someone had fallen in the freezing water. You snap your head up and survey the crew members in a panic. You count the members still lying unconscious.

Zoro, Robin, Chopper, Nami, Franky, Brook, Usopp......Sanji isn't here.

The cook is coughing as he surfaces, his body struggling to keep himself afloat from falling off the small iceberg fragment his body had landed on.
