Jae was busy typing the codes on his laptop. He was sitting straight up, completely focused on what he's doing. After three months, he finally mastered everything—codes, his techniques, the nooks and crannies of the database he's trying to infiltrate.

He was the one who created that database, after all.

'Piece of cake,' he thought once. 'I was the one who made it, so it will be easy peasy.'

Jae stretched his fingers a bit, then he continued typing.

It's already been five months, yet he still couldn't hack the database. The reason? He had encountered an enemy—a good one, to boot. Every time Jae entered an attack, there would always be a counter attack. Because of that, two of his computers were completely destroyed. However, despite the frustrations and humiliations, Jae found this exciting. Back then, when he was still in the group, he was the best hacker. No one could defeat him. But things had changed. And his never ending curiosity was already killing him. He wanted to know who this enemy was. He wanted to know his identity. He thought that perhaps this person was with him during their training, but he couldn't remember who would it be or who had the chance to be this good.

Jae stopped typing when someone put a hot mug of black coffee on his table. He looked up and saw Aki, Juliene's aunt.

He smiled at her. "Thank you."

She nodded and went back to her chair beside the bed.

Jae took the mug and drank the coffee. 'I'll take a break, then,' he thought and leaned on the sofa. He brought the mug closer, letting the steam get into his face.

Aki was fixing Juliene's blanket. She pushed Juliene's long strands of her away and pulled the blanket up to Juliene's chest. After that, Aki looked at Juliene for a long time. By the looks of it, she was silently praying—

Praying that she would wake up.

Jae stared at Aki. She became thinner than before. Her glowing complexion was now replaced by a pale one. Jae knew that Aki had something to do with Juliene's mother. She always said that Juliene's mother was her sister, but Jae doubted that. Jae knew what Juliene's mother looked like, and he saw no resemblance on Aki's face.

The door opened and Wonpil, together with Dowoon, entered the room with two bags of groceries. Dowoon walked towards Aki and kissed her cheek while Wonpil put the groceries under the table.

"What'd you get?" Jae asked.

"The usual, with a few vegetables and meat." Wonpil stretched his arms in the air. "My worms are already tired of eating noodles and convenience store foods."
