Charles was gone. Disappeared from sight. Aaron's eyes scanned over the field, dreading to see Charles covered in his own blood... again. Bile rised in Aaron's throat as he quickly ran towards another side of the field. A bullet whizzed by his ear and he stopped shortly to nurse his eardrum.
"Aaron! Look out!" Someone yelled, Aaron knew that voice. Small arms wrapped around him and the two were hauled to the ground. Bullets whizzed over head and Aaron tensed. Craning his neck, he saw Charles, a worried expression on his face.
"Are you OK?" Charles yelled over the gunfire, "Are you?" Aaron replied. "I'm asking about you...! Don't worry about me!" Charles replied.
Suddenly, the gunfire stopped. Everyone lowered their guns as the red coated men frantically waved their white flag. Charles quickly helped Aaron up, and everyone started cheering.
Aaron hugged Charles, who buried his face in his chest. The height difference was definetly there. Charles being the smaller one. "We won!" Hercules called, "Really, never thought... Was actually thinking we lost for a second there." Charles muttered, jokingly. Aaron chuckled and hugged the smaller boy a little tighter.
"Ok, lads! Back to camp for a nice rest!" Washington called after a solid 15 minutes of negotiating the terms of surrender with the British. Sam rushed over to Charles, who was stood near Aaron. "Charlie! We won!" He yapped cheerfully. "Yeah, we won...!" Charles replied. "Dude, we should go to the pub!" Sam beamed.
"The 'pub' ey?" Charles looked at Aaron out of the corner of his eye. "What?" Aaron questioned. "Nothing, nothing. Hey Sam, why don't you tell us a bit more about your new boyfriend when we're at the 'pub' ?" Charles teased.

Samuel had gotten drunk quite quickly, Charles's cheeks had flushed slightly from the alcohol, but he was still the same sober Charles Lee. Aaron wasn't drunk at all, considering he wasn't in the mood for a killer hangover.
"I'm telling you, Charliieeeee... He's adoooorrrrable!" Sam slurred, blabbing on about his boyfriend George King. Charles leant over to Aaron slightly, who glanced at him before turning back to his phone. "I'm actually starting to regret asking him to talk, period..." Charles whispered. Aaron chuckled, "You brought this on yourself, Charles..."
Charles sighed and lent against Aaron, replying to a few texts he was receiving. The taller male felt his cheeks heat up as he sipped his water and acted like nothing was happening. "Should we head back to camp?" Aaron asked after a period of silence between the two, despite Sam's drunken blabbering. "What about Sam?" Aaron asked as Charles stood up, stretched, and downed the rest of his cider. "I can call his boyfriend." The smaller boy said. Aaron stood up and crossed his arms, "really?"
Charles nodded and approached Sam carefully, "Did I mention how his hairs really fluffy after he showers... I think it's the shampoo...?" Sam giggled, hiccuping. Charles carefully took Sam's phone out of the drunken boy's pocket and turned back to Aaron, who shook his head. "Really? Pick-pocketing him, Charles?" Aaron asked, slightly amused.
The smaller male shrugged, "Worked didn't it? My boyfriend taught me..." Aaron frowned as Charles started to scroll through his best friend's contacts. Once he found the one he wanted, he quickly rang it. "Hey, yeah i'm Sam's friend, nice to talk too, uhh, no he's not dead, he's really drunk though... No... Yes... Yeah, I was wondering if you could pick him up? ... He's always difficult with us... Ok... Thanks..." Charles hung up without saying goodbye.
Aaron creased a brow, slipping his own phone into his pocket as Charles turned to Sam. "Ok, Sam, George is gonna be here in about a minute to pick you up." Charles explained, slipping Sam's phone back into his pocket. "Oookkkaaaaaayyyyy~" Sam slurred, putting his head on the table. "No more drinks til he comes, 'kay?" Charles asked, only to reassure himself. Sam nodded against the large, chipped, wooden table.
Charles turned back to Aaron, "We ready to go?" He asked. Aaron nodded. Leaving the bar, Charles yelped as someone smacked his ass, hard. "Heyyy, baby boy... You coming home today?" The man's slur was worse than Sam's. "No, I told you, I have to go back..." Charles replied, grabbing Aaron's arm out of instinct.
Aaron narrowed his eyes slightly, watching the man closely. The man grabbed Charles again, this time rougher, "Well I told you, you're coming back today!" Charles tried backing up but felt as if he was cornered. Now Aaron's instincts kicked in. His knuckles connected with the man's cheek with a crack. The drunken man stumbled back as Charles slipped behind Aaron.
"What was that for?!" The man was furious, to say the least. "Don't touch him." Aaron snarled, "He's my boyfriend, I can do whatever the fuck I want with him, come on Charlie." The man demanded. Aaron growled, going to throw another punch at him. Charles quickly grabbed Aaron's arm, soothing Aaron's nerves slightly. "I'm comin' James..." Lee said quietly, letting go and going to follow him.
Aaron quickly grabbed Charles's hand as soon as James did. Charles looked panicked, "Charles, I said you're coming with me. Or do I have to give you another lesson?" James asked coldly. Charles let go of Aaron's hand reluctantly, following James away from the bar.

The two lay, tangled in eachother's limbs. Charles's head was relaxed against Aaron's chest, and Aaron's chin was resting on Charles's head. The smaller male's lips were lightly pressed against Aaron's collarbone.
"Hey... Aaron, can I show you something...?" Charles whispered nervously. Aaron didn't open his eyes, "What's up?" . "It's kinda... personal... You have to promise not to tell anyone."
Aaron's eyes peeled open. "What do you need to show me?" He asked. Charles sat up and started wiggling out of his shirt. Beneath the cloth was a massive amount of bruising and cuts swelling on his torso. Burr felt sick, he wanted to touch one, but didn't want to hurt Charles either.
Instead, he offered a hug. Charles hesitated before curling into his chest. "What happened?" Aaron whispered softly, his voice calm in order not to scare Charles away. The bruised boy shivered as cold air wisped around him. "Reynolds... That's what he did to me after we split up at the bar... He... He..."
Aaron gently soothed Charles. Finding the best way to comb his fingers through his soft, black hair. "Shh... Don't worry... He's not gonna hurt you anymore, Charlie..." Aaron whispered. The nickname was an accident, and he knew that only Sam called him that, but he needed comfort.
"I'll keep him away from you, if he comes here." Aaron stated. Charles kept his head tucked under Burr's, "Promise..?" Charles asked quietly. "I promise... Now, do you wanna get some sleep, or talk about something else?" Aaron asked softly, helping Charles to get his shirt back on. "Can we sleep?" Charles asked. "Of course..."
Aaron lay them both down, carefully hugging Charles. He pressed a soft kiss to the smaller boy's head and pressed their foreheads together. "Is the zip locked from the inside?" Charles rasped. "Yeah..." Aaron replied, pressing another kiss to Charles's head before looking over towards the door. "Ok..."
Charles tried to fall asleep first, with Aaron gently fluttering kisses onto his head and shoulders. "I love you, Charlie..." Aaron whispered, thinking the smaller male was asleep. Charles didn't reply, and ignored the statement.
Well... I ship this too hard, to tell you honestly.
