Mia's POV

"Mia!" My mom called from downstairs.

"WHAT!" I yelled back practically annoyed because she had been calling my name for the past three minutes and didn't answer back.

"COME DOWNSTAIRS!" She yelled back, finally answering.

"OKAY!"I yelled getting off my bed and made my way downstairs to find out why she was frantically yelling my name for the past minutes.

"Yes mom?"I asked her entering the kitchen. She was washing the dishes facing the window that looked out to the backyard. No wonder she didn't bother to go upstairs and tell me whatever she needs to tell me. She was too busy washing dishes.

"Sweetheart, I need to speak to you about something important."She said closing the water and cleaned her wet hands with a rag that was laying on the counter next to the sink.
"What is it mom?"I asked while I sat on the kitchen table.

"First of all, get off the damn table!" She yelled hitting me with the rag she had just cleaned her hands with, which by the way was wet.
"Mom!" I yelled and hopped off the table before she hit me again. "It was wet!" I said wiping off the water that was on my legs.

"Then don't sit on my table! How many times have I told you that it's disrespectful to sit on things that aren't meant to be sat on?!" She yelled.

"Okay okay. I'm sorry. I won't do it again." I said giving in to the fact that she had practically won this argument.

"You say that all the time and still keep doing it Mia!" She said stating a fact.

"Can you just forget about this and tell me what's so important since you basically yelled at me for like ten minutes?" I asked her wanting to just get over with this talk and go back to my room to finish watching my show which she rudely interrupted with her loud yelling.

"Okay." She sighed. "Take a seat please. But on the chair!" She yelled before I could sit on the table. Again.

"What is it?" I asked taking a seat on the chair facing her.

"So, yesterday at work, they offered me a raise."She said.

"That's great! What type of raise?" I asked her.

"It's as COO of the company." She said proudly.
"OH MY GOSH MOM! THAT'S AMAZING!" I yelled jumping off my seat and ran to hug her.

"Yes. Thank you sweetheart. I know it's an amazing opportunity." She said hugging me back and still sitting down. She looked kind of worried though.

"What is it?" I asked her stepping back. I noticed she had more to this story. And it didn't seem like it would be good news.

"The thing is..." She sighed, taking a break from what she was about to say.

"Spill it mom!" I yelled anxiously wanting to know what bad news she was about to give me.

"The job is in New York." She said starring at me to see what I was about to say.

"New York?! That's amazing! So we get to move there"?! I yelled in excitement. But then I saw her giving me a look. "What?" I asked her. All my excitement gone.

"Honey, I can't take you with me." She said. There it was. The bad news I was waiting for.

"What do you mean you can't take me?!" I yelled at her in disbelief.

"You can't go because you're already in mid term and if I take you you could go behind and I don't want to do that to your education." She explained hoping I would give in.
