Living away from your parents is sure not my thing but because of some job opportunities which I accepted, I was assigned in an urban place. I planned on paying a visit on them, miles and miles away from where I am staying. I did an overtime last night so that I can enjoy a two day vacation.

An hour have passed and I'm not even halfway towards my parent's place. Their house stood in a river bank with tall trees enveloping the place. Raising farm animals, fishing and gardening as their hobby. Not to mention that next nearest house would take half an hour of walk, depending on how fast your pace is.

"100m away from a tunnel." My car or maybe the system announced. I just bought this car last week and have no idea what this car's features are. I guess I have to ask some friends. Soon, I saw the tunnel and darkness enveloped me. I turned the headlights on. Seeing not a single car on the opposite lane.

I gulped. Driving alone in a tunnel is a creepy thing. I hear nothing but smooth sounds of my car moving. I looked on the rearview mirror, checking if there's a car behind and there's none. Minutes passed and I'm still in the tunnel.

"This must be a long tunnel." I murmured. Tapping my fingers, I suddenly feel hot. Sweats are now forming on my forehead. In no hesitation, I drove fast.

And the light came back. I took a deep breath and release. I felt light and I'm no longer sweating. I drove my car back to the appropriate speed. I'm now facing a long empty highway with tall trees on both sides. Like it's endless. I pressed a button and the radio turned on. Now I hear a music.

On the dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair.

Goose bumps.

Why am I feeling strange right now? The music have been creeping the hell out of me. I immediately turned it off, throwing on the side the absurd things in my mind. I straigthen my back and focused my eyes on the round and failed to do so because of the strums of the guitar from the song echoing on my mind.

"Come on Byun." I encouraged myself. I rolled the windows down and allowed the morning breeze to enter. I just need some fresh air.

Ten minutes drive from the tunnel. I've been thinking on what to do when I arrived. I brought some pastries for them to enjoy. Perhaps I should go fishing again. That's how my father and I spend time together. While my mother patiently waiting because she'll cook our catch and we'll eat together. I smiled at the thought of it. It's been a while since I visit.

My happy and reminiscing thoughts was interrupted when my car moved slower and soon stopped. "What the?"

I looked at the screen and my fuel tank is empty.

"You're kidding me." I chuckled. I put the key in ignition again. But useless, it didn't work.

"Oh fuck." How did this happen? I left the city not with a full tank fuel but not also with a almost empty fuel tank.

Tunnel.

"Stupid." I slam my head on the steering wheel. Stupid. Stupid. My tank immediately got empty when I sprinted real fast just to pass the tunnel immediately.

What to do now?

I get out of the vehicle and reached for my phone. Calling for a someone or 911 to ask help. I guess this is my lucky day. There's no signal. I stretched my arm, best that I could, hoping that one single bar on the signal will appear but then it's my lucky day. Nothing happened.

I stood there for minutes. Vehicle passed but it didn't. Not a single automobile is visible. Not even a sign of other existence. Maybe an animal. Odd. I didn't see even a bird in the sky.

Should I walk?

It's still miles away and I can't just leave my car here. My newly bought car with my belongings on it. But I can't just stay here waiting for someone to help me which I'm afraid won't happen.

I check on my wrist watch and it's seven in the morning. I guess it's just early but hell, streets are even busy six in the morning. It's city. Of course it's busy.

I nod. Yeah, that's right. As early as six in the morning, the city street are now filled with vehicles. The place where I am stuck now, obviously very far from the city now, would be strange to see a vehicle on highways this early. I feed myself on that reason. Nothing to be worried of. Someone will pass by.

And someone did.
