"You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there"

"So how do you like staying here so far?" I asked, we were practically cuddling at this point. Over the past week, I had finally gotten really close with someone other than my siblings and parents. It's actually like a breath of fresh air.

We were in my room watching Step Up, a movie made almost thirty-one years ago, still a classic. She was sitting next to me in one of my bean bag chairs, her strawberry blonde hair up in a bun. She had gotten comfortable with me, enough to even come into my room to sleep. She looked my way, "Yeah, especially because I have you."

"Did you see your sister at school?" My mom asked, peeking her head through the door, she looked tired, her hair frizzy, her pajamas still on.

I shook my head, "Mom, it's Saturday we don't have school. She's probably at a friend's house. Don't worry about it."

"She's been gone for a week Enrique, I have a reason to worry. And she isn't answering my calls." Mom said back, the door had been opened more. My mom leaned against the frame - hand on hip like she was annoyed with me.

"Mom, you know Valentina, she's probably just having fun. She just turned eighteen. She thinks she can be wilder now." And I do put emphasis on the wilder part, she's always been the crazy one. I think turning eighteen just made her think she didn't have to let our parents know when she was leaving now, before she would tell them and if they said no she would go anyways.

My mom scoffed closing the door but not before muttering, "She ain't grown." I shook my head turning back to the movie.

"Should we help her? I think she's worried." Weston asked.

"Don't worry about it." I paused the movie to look her way, "Val has always been this way, always doing big disappearances, happens monthly at this point."

She actually looked concerned too but she just shrugged, "Okay I guess."

We left the conversation alone watching the dancers until her hands reached for mine. Her soft hands traced my fingers until I allowed them to grasp them fully, she placed her head on my shoulder. She looked quite peaceful and I didn't want to ruin that but I do have a girlfriend. We had been together for two years and I definitely did not want to ruin that for whatever this is.

"I have to tell you something." I say to her, I feel like I need to tell her about my girlfriend before it goes too far, she pauses the movie looking my way.
