Just a Boy, a romance fiction, Interracial |

"Omg, OMG, he's coming."

I rolled my eyes and didn't bother to look down the hall. I knew exactly what, or should I say who I would see and that would be Logan Wellington sauntering down the hall like he did every morning with his best friend, Eli Jensen, to head to their lockers.

"Omg, Willow, they're coming this way!"

I slammed my locker shut and glared at my best friend. "If you say o.m.g one more time, Zoe, I swear-"

"Willie!"

I tried not to groan when I heard his voice and felt Logan wrap his arm around my shoulders.

"Just the girl I wanted to see."

I shrugged his arm off.  "What can I help you with, Logan?"  I asked him as nicely as I could.

He just shrugged and looked toward my best friend. "Is she...ok?" he frowned.

I followed his gaze toward Zoe whose face was quickly changing colors.

"She looks blue." Eli bluntly stated casually leaning against some lockers.

I sighed and quickly slapped my best friend across the cheek. "Breathe, you dumbass"

Zoe gasped and palmed her cheek before narrowing her eyes at me. "Bitch"

I just smiled.

"Oook, anyways," Logan looked at me.  "The project."

"What about it?" I asked him.

"We'll finish it after school" He said.

"I thought you had practice."

"Just found out it's cancelled. Conflict with the weather or something." he shrugged again.

"Oh, ok. Meet at the library?" I suggested.

"Sounds good." he grinned then stepped away from me, while Eli just stared awkwardly at Zoe.

"See you later Willie. Willie's friend." Logan said winking at her.

Zoe whimpered after they started walking away. I waited a couple of seconds before opening my mouth.

"You're pathetic."

"Oh, shut up, Willie" she says imitating Logan's voice. "I don't understand how you can talk to him so calmly."

"I don't understand how you can't. He's just a boy."

She looked ready to explode. "Just a boy? Just a boy?!" her voice rose. "It's Logan Wellington!"

I blinked once and then turned around to start walking away. Zoe followed.

"Fine, he's just a boy." she mumbled, even though she was just saying it to please me.

"Yes, he is." I say with a tone of finality. Logan Wellington was just a boy. There was nothing special about him.

Just a boy.

Unfortunately even I found those words hard to believe when I sat across from him after school in the library as we worked on our project.

The truth, Logan was beautiful. Saying he was good looking simply didn't cut it, he was more than that. Besides having the perfect hair, an amazing body and gorgeous eyes, he was also nice. Extremely so. People loved him, and though he tended to tease a lot, it was mostly in a friendly way rather than malicious.
