Spin the bottle.
Anticipated silence.
The bottle stops spinning and lands on me.
Truth or Dare.
I choose dare.
You dare me to dream,
the one thing I am afraid to do.
I want to be a star, but do I have what it takes to become famous?
I crave the adoring fans and the adrenaline rush
that comes from being in the spotlight.
I'm envisioning signing autographs from left to right,
my name shall be embedded in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
All eyes on me, They're watching my every move.
The paparazzi are waiting for me to fall from grace.
They're like vultures preying on the defenseless,
is fame worth the invasion of my privacy?
Despite my doubts, I took your dare and ran with it.
Commercials, bit parts, and low-budget films,
all that mattered was my name and face
becoming known to the world.
Blazing a path to stardom isn't straightforward,
if I fail, do I place the blame on you or myself?
A star's brightness dims over time,
a fact I had forgotten.
When a star stops shining,
its life is over.
This is the thanks I get for being daring.
