I walked into the open call auditions and I was petrified.
"Okay now 1st I want all the acro-jazz girls go first, you can do a routine that you already know! Okay number 2 you first!" Abby Lee Miller said and I looked down I am number 14 I still have a lot of time.
I showed off at how flexible I am and it went really well.
"Now who is going to be on the competition team is number 14!" I was so excited. "I will see you in rehearsal after you go get a drink!" Abby said and I thanked her and gave her a hug. I then ran up to my mom and hugged her.
After I got a drink I went into studio A again and stood more toward the back.
"This dance is called All The Same. Everyone will be wearing the different costumes and different headpieces but they will all look similar. Also everyone will be doing the same moves and a few people will be featured. Maddie, Chloe, Kendall, and Zoe." I smiled and hugged Kendall. Since I move here not to long ago she is my only real friend.
"There will also be a duet between Kendall and Zoe. It will be a 1940's jazz-acro." I smiled and hugged her again.
"Now at first at the beginning is just Zoe doing some acro work. So stay down here and do a handstand walk in and sit down. Now when you hear the music I want you to do a chin-stand."
And I did it and she said I did really good and she dismissed us.
I invited Kendall over for a sleep over and how could she resist. So when we got there we gossiped and talked and did normal things 11 year olds so at a sleepover.
"Can I do your hair?" She asked I nodded and turned on my straightener, we walked down stairs to Jill and my mom (who are best friends by the way) and were talking.
We got a snack and went to be completely forgetting about the straightener.
I woke up later that night to the smell of smoke. When I really woke up I realized that there was a fire.
"KENDALL WAKE UP!!! THERE'S A FIRE!!!" I screamed and she sat right up. We ran until we heard a faint meow and bark.
"I will get the dog if you get the cat." She said and ran over and got Percy (Yes named after Percy Jackson). I ran over and got Finnick (yes after Finnick Odair) and ran out the door flames biting at my ankles.
"Are you okay?" I asked and she cried and hugged me.
"Yea I'm okay." She said.
"Where is my mother and dad?" I said.
"We will wait by the tree and when you are waiting I will call 9-11 okay?" She said.
I nodded and walked over. Within 5 minutes the firemen where there and my mom and dad are no where to be seen.
Jill took Kendall, me, and my pets to her house. We went back to bed and tried to sleep. I cried and cried for hours.
I tried to make as little noise as possible, but it didn't work. "Hey come here." Kendall and Jill said. We where to scared to sleep alone. I climbed into the bed and laid down beside Jill.
"Hey honey it's okay, just go to sleep. Both of you." Jill said and I fell asleep.
"WAKE UP! WAKE UP!" Kendall yelled and I jumped remembering what happened last night. "Sorry. My mom is taking us to school later, but first she is taking you shopping for clothes and get your hair cut." Kendall said and pointed to my hair.
I looked down for the 1st time and saw that my hair was charred off from the flames and so was hers. My once down to my hips length hair is now a little farther past the middle of my ribs. Hers isn't far past her shoulders.
I smiled and walked over to Kendall's room. She let me pick out an outfit and I put it on. I was skinnier that her so everything was big. We walked out and Jill was on the phone as I fed Percy and Finnick.
"Zoe I am really sorry to say this but your parents where killed in the fire last night. You are now able to live with us. They say that the fire was started by a candle. Honey I am so sorry."
