The Maths Test

A classroom setting, that's all that life was for the average human being in America from the age five to eighteen, some people started earlier and some started later but in the end it would always come back to the same place. Most people know what's included in a classroom setting, more specifically, a fifth grade classroom setting. The room was littered with small groups and clumpings of desks that would hold students that were around the age of ten or nine. Life was pretty easy to anyone older than the grade but, the students agreed that the new wave of homework in preparation for six grade was over kill.

"Mrs. Live, may I go to the bathroom?" A young child says, as they stand from their desk and push their maths test over so that another student can cheat off her answers, her voice is calm and she gets permission with ease, she was the teacher's pet after all, her class life was a luxury.

As she leaves the class she signs her name on a piece of paper so she couldn't skip class or steal without being tracked, 'Mara Amber', it's written with such ease and the girl leaves the class in her little blue jumper and leggings, her hair pinned up with ribbons because, she was told that Danny liked it when girls had their hair pulled up in ribbons. Mara entered the bathroom just quick enough to catch the last few words of some girls conversations before they left for class looking quite agitated from being interrupted. Shrugging off their final sentences Mara entered the bathroom stall and locked it behind her before turning around to be greeted by someone,

"Oh, hello."

"Mrs. Live, can I go to the bathroom now?" The teacher looked up from her desk, her wrinkly faced showed a timid frown,

"Is anyone out right now?" She asked as she motioned to the sign in sheet near the door, the student stood up,

"Yeah, Mara's out but, she's been out for a half an hour, so can I go?" The student spoke dismissively, they just needed to get on their phones before the livestream they had been getting notifications for ended.

"A whole thirty minutes?" Mrs. Live asked as she stood up from her desk and approached the sheet, Mara was often very quiet so she had assumed that the child had just come in and sat down while she wasn't looking, "Go check on her and see if she's alright." The teacher ordered as the student sighed and walked out of the classroom, they returned within minutes,

"She isn't in the bathroom."

By now Mrs. Live was at her desk, she was calling the office to make an announcement and call the girl back into her class, when that didn't work the school went into a lock down. Not one security camera, guard, student, or teacher saw this kid walk off campus, wherever she was, she had gotten there without being seen.

Mara Ambers had disappeared off the face of the planet.
