Lily:

Dear Diary,

5th year is OWL year! We're only two months in and work is already piling up! Potter is annoying as always.

James:

Deer Diary, THREE YEARS OF EFFORT HAVE FINALLY PAID OFF! Fifth year is getting difficult, but I'm still getting through Quidditch practices and homework with dogged determination. Rats, it's a full moon tonight. Moony (that's Remus, and yes, Sirius/Padfoot, Peter/Wormtail, and I/Prongs are giving the Marauders new nicknames, how cool is that?) is still unaware of our newly acquired... personas. I think we'll surprise him tonight.

December 1975

Lily:

Dear Diary,

WILL JAMES POTTER STOP ASKING ME OUT, I'M NEVER GOING TO SAY YES. JUST STOP.

February 1976

Lily:

Dear Diary,

Sirius just spent the last half an hour talking about how Potter is a "good guy underneath all that arrogance". I told him to butt out, then gave him some advice about his own love life. Sirius bought Remus 50 Honeydukes chocolate bars the other day. Even Potter doesn't get that kind of treatment from Sirius. And Remus let Sirius borrow his favorite sweater the other day! They would make such a cute couple.

James:

AAARRRRRGHHHH MY EYES! PADFOOT AND MOONY, FOR THE LOVE OF MERLIN, NOT IN THE DORM! SHOULDN'T THE ROOM OF REQUIREMENT OR SOMETHING BE OPEN FOR THIS PURPOSE? Also, ABOUT TIME! THEY'VE BEEN MENTALLY UNDRESSING EACH OTHER FOR THE PAST YEAR!

May 1976

Lily:

Dear Diary,

I am done with Severus Snape. Today when he called me a Mudblood, all I could think about was that Muggle book I read about Germany and the Nazis in World War II. It's happening all over again. Potter and Sirius weren't much better. They pride themselves in being anti-Voldemort, then they laugh and bully others without provocation. Remus and Peter should have done something to stop them. But no I'm not going to let those Death Eaters do this to me and the other muggleborns, not without a fight because that world full of hatred and bigotry is not a world I want to live in and it's not a world I want to raise my children in and there are so much people out there who deserve better and I want to give them something better I want to be a part of that movement to make something better because Voldemort MUST FALL. Professor Slughorn suggested a career related to Potions, but I want to fight.

James:

Lessons for the day: 1) Snivellus is a prejudiced git. 2) Hanging someone upside down is not the best way to impress Evans. 3) Maybe I am an arrogant toerag.
