Two Different Mornings

Charlie's POV

Waking up this morning was one of the easiest times it's ever been. I actually managed to get out of bed less than twenty minutes after my alarm went off! It may not seem like much but for me, that's an accomplishment. I sped through my morning routine with ease and rushed out of my house with a few quick goodbyes thrown in between me and my parents.

When I pull out my headphones to listen to music I realize that I hadn't checked my phone yet this morning. After plugging in my headphones and starting the music, I check my missed messages. 

Of course, there's the usual "Where are you Charlie!?!" with the string of angry emojis from Taylor. This time I don't respond since I'm actually gonna make it on time (hopefully). No texts from Hunter, unfortunately, I guess he still doesn't want to talk to me. I do however have texts from Mike. 

Mike: Good morning babe! 

Mike: Can't wait to see you at school today! :D

Just seeing these texts makes me start smiling like an idiot. I can't help it! He's too cute! God, how did I manage to get a guy like him to like me?

Gm! I'm omw to school, meet up at my locker?

After a few seconds, he responds.

Mike: Sure. See you soon ;)

A feeling of joy and happiness washes over me, leaving an even bigger smile on my face. I don't rush to school, I have time to spare. So, instead, I take my time enjoying the music, the scenery, and this feeling. I might as well enjoy it for as long as I can, it doesn't happen very often. Not as often as it should anyway.

After a few minutes, I finally arrive at school. 

"There he is! Would you look at that, you made it on time for once," Taylor teases as I walk over to her. Alex, who is standing next to her laughs. 

"I know, this is so weird. I should leave for a few minutes and then come back to maintain my streak," I comment sarcastically. Taylor scowls threateningly. 

"Don't even think about it!" She growls, making me laugh.

"Taylor, don't kill Charlie," Alex says calming her down.

She pouts at him and says, "fine. But next time it won't be so easy to stop me."

"Challenge accepted," I comment.

She narrows her eyes at me and then turns to Alex, who wraps an arm around her. Instantly, making her happy again. Then I remember something. Well... someone. 

"Hey, have either of you seen Hunter?" I ask. They both shake their heads. Great, so now he's avoiding all of us. I guess that makes sense since I'm always around these two. 

"Oh well, I'll catch him later. Anyway, I need to go to my locker." 

They both look at me confused. Alex asks, "Why? Classes don't start for a while."

Shit. Should I tell them? Well, they're going to find out eventually. 

"I'm meeting someone there," I say nonchalantly.

Taylor raises her eyebrows and teases, "Oooo, Charlie's got a boyfriend?"

"I guess you can say that."

Both of them look at me completely shocked at my response. Unfortunately, it's Taylor that speaks first. 

"WHAT?!" She screams.
