"Mr. Nicholas you have a phone call on line 2" My secretory Janell called from outside of my office. She only been hired for two weeks and she already got a hold of everything.

"Thanks Ms. Howard, I got it from here" I responded back then picked up the phone to see who was on the other end.

"Hello, Devon Nicholas speaking may I ask who am I speaking to?" I asked in my most polite voice I could muster up.

"Hey Devon, this is Kina" My face was in a trance once I heard her voice, I haven't talked to Kina in years. A lot ran through my mind, like how did she get my number? What did she want? And why now?
"Hello are you there?" Kina voice sing in my ears.

"Yes I'm here, just shocked you called me that's all" I replied still looking confused.

"Oh!" She said then I heard sound of moving in the background, was somebody with her?

"Oh? Is there a reason you called Kina?" I ask trying to make my voice seem cheerful and not sound rude.

"Yes, I sent out invites to everyone, but I don't have your new address" She sounded a little nervous, but maybe it was because we haven't talked in forever. I forgot how by just hearing her voice it could brighten up my day.

"An invite to what?" I asked a little to eager on what she was going to say.

"To...ummm.. my wedding" Those two words broke me out of any thought about our past, those words hit me hard, I didn't even know she was engaged.

"Oh!" It was my turn to reply with the short response. I don't know if I could see Kina walk down the aisle to another man. I wasn't jealous, me and Kina were just friend. Or was I jealous?

"If you don't want to come I un..." I stopped her from finishing that sentence.

"I will be there Kina, just leave all the information with my secretary Ms. Howard."

There was a long silence before she spoke, I thought the phone had disconnected; "Hello? Are you still Kina?"

"Yes I am, and okay I will do that" She said then I was about to hang up until she replied; "It was nice hearing from you again Devon." I could do nothing but smile.

"It was nice hearing from you too Kina, we should catch up some time before the wedding." I blurted out the last part.

"Yeah, we should" She said I hear her switching the phone to the other ear. "Bye Devon"

"By Kina" I said clicking the phone over to Ms. Howard so she can take down the information for the wedding.

I never would've thought Kina would be getting married, I always thought it was just going to me, her and Logan, but guess I was wrong.

This made me think of all the times me and Kina had together in high school. She was my best friend we could talk about anything, but that seems so long ago.
