"Great!", i thought to myself as i climbed up the stairs , taking two steps at a time, to my classroom. I was late. Again. Like on almost every Monday morning. It was loud in my classroom which was a good sign.

The teacher didn't show up yet. I sat down on my seat next to the window. The place on my right was empty. She didn't show up. I hated it when she just left me alone, especially on Mondays, just because she's 'sick' or doesn't feel like coming to school. Seems like it's just me, myself and i today, huh. All of my other friends are in different classes and i just get a chance to see them between the lessons. The bell rang and i took off my jacket just before the teacher entered the class.

"Sorry, I'm late...", said our teacher. He was ,obviously, in a hurry.

"You don't have to apologize!", said a random kid from the back of the room. Everyone laughed. How is it possible to be so cheerful this early?

"Well,", continued our teacher, ignoring the comment."I have an announcement for you." Everybody got quiet. "We got a new student at our school and he's going to be in our class. Be nice to him and show him around, okay?" So it's a boy. I sighed. One annoying idiot more do deal with. I took my books out of my backpack and started drawing on my pocket-book.

The teacher told the new student to come in and introduce himself. I looked up and saw a tall boy, well not really tall but anyhow taller than me, with inky locks that fell light into his face. His eyes were....brown? No...I thought it couldn't be but they were light brown or more gold with a light red tone that you wouldn't see at first. He had his hands in his pockets and wore casual clothes. A black hoodie and dark jeans. His dark clothes made him look very pale. Just now i realized that he was staring at me. I looked away quickly.

He grinned and said, with one of the deepest voices I've ever heard, "Hi, well I'm seventeen years old and just moved into this town. And my name is Smaug." At first, it was quiet and everybody stared at him. The teacher looked at us eagerly and one of the girls spoke up. "Smaug? Is it your real name? I've never heard of anyone with such a name."

He grinned, again. His dimples underlined his pleased smile. "Well, I know It's an uncommon name but It's a normal name where I come from."

"And where's your name from?", asked another girl. Just girls that were already trying to get his attention, I supposed. He hesitated."From a place far away from here. In the north.", he said bored. "But you have a British accent!", said a boy. Smaug smiled."I never said where I'm from. I am, indeed, from England."

"Okay, thank you!", said the teacher quick and made a gesture towards me. "You can sit down beside Cecily if you want." Well, I thought, he had no other choice. There's no other chair left. I groaned internally as I moved my books aside. He sat down and put his bag down, which didn't look like there's anything in it that's important for school.

"Hi.", he leaned over to me, whispered into my ear and a shiver went down my spine when I heard his deep voice. "I'm Smaug." He held his hand up for a handshake and I hesitated but gave him my hand too. Don't be awkward, I begged to myself. "Cecily", I responded, trying to sound happy although I was still deadly tired. My light brown hair must've looked awful. My light locks fell over my shoulders but it felt like they were all over the place. Well, I gave him my hand and realized that his hand was way bigger than mine. His handshake was tight and his hand was, unlike mine, really warm. My hands were always freezing cold. He let go and nodded his head up and down, thinking. "Cecy.", he mumbled. "Cecily...", I corrected. "I got that. But I think that I'll call you Cecy." Oh god no, please. "I prefer my real name, though...", I tried to convince him not call me by nicknames. Now he smiled and I could get a closer look into his eyes. They were gold and red. But how?

"Your eyes...", I said quietly, trying to hide the hint of insecurity that sneaked into my voice. Suddenly, his eyes changed to a normal brown.

"What's wrong with my eyes?", he asked, also quietly.Maybe I just imagined the weird colours? But now they changed back and I was sure I didn't made this up one second ago.

"They're red and gold...and kinda yellow...", I whispered more to myself but he heard me and just laughed. Then he leaned back and put his hands in his pockets again,  rocking his chair backwards and forwards. I couldn't let my eyes off of him. He looked like he's seventeen but then he also didn't look like a teenager at all. His inky locks moved with him as he still rocked his chair.

"Cecily, could you read the next part, please?", said the teacher in a rough tone. I looked around. Everyone had their books open on their tables. Damn it, I didn't even know what page we were on. I opened my book up and searched the page nervously when it suddenly rang and the lesson was over. I closed my book and sighed. "Could you give me private lessons?"; Smaug asked in an innocent voice. "In what?", I asked bugged. "In anything you want as long as we're spending our time with anything but learning." He grinned and bit his lip when I turned to him. "Seriously?!" I stood up and went out of the class.

I saw my best friend on the schoolyard and sat down next to the gym where large benches were a good opportunity to sit and talk without being at the centre with all the loud kids.

"A new student?", said my best friend Raven. "And? Is he good-looking?"

I nudged her with my shoulder when, suddenly, someone sat on my lap. I didn't even see him coming.

"I'm free later today. We can start our private lessons today.", he said in a serious voice, totally ignoring the fact that he sat on my lap.

"Private lessons?", Raven asked curiously.

"Yeah but she's embarrassed about this. She doesn't want anyone to know that we're in a realtionship so psst.", he whispered to Raven holding his finger in front of his mouth to tell her not to talk about all this. I tried to get him off of me but he changed his position so he could look at me while talking. He leaned his hands against the wall behind me and looked down at me. His golden eyes locked with mine and I almost forgot to breathe.

"Could you get off of me now?" I wanted to sound angry but I let it out as a whisper instead. A few kids were already staring at us.

"Only if you agree." ,he said without breaking eye contact with me.He didn't even blink once since.

"Alright...",I agreed, still annoyed by the fact that he has chosen me as his new friend or whatever he thinks this is between us.

He smiled, showing his dimples as he stood up and walked away with his hands in his pockets.

"Well...",Raven said.

"That was weird."

She gave me a look that said 'You poor thing'. So I gave her an 'And you thought that he was flirting with me'-look.
