In the evening,
Ved dressed in a slim fit brown shirt and denims. He combed and gelled his hair and tucked his handkerchief into his pocket. He walked to his bed and grabbed the plastic shopping bags. He had gone to get some toys and chocolates for Nihal. Natasha had repeatedly warned him about Nihal being a tough child. Ved didn't take her seriously but now standing in front of her apartment he felt his palm sweating and heart beat increasing.
What if Nihal isn't impressed by him and rejects him? Ved wondered for the nth time.
Just toss the little Rascal off the window if he doesn't melt -Aditya had suggested. Ved frowned shaking his head, why is he even thinking of that option.
Ved looked around when the door opened, and he froze. He looked down and found Nihal frowning at him. He eyed Ved from top to bottom.
'You came again, Uncle?' He folded his arm. Ved opened his mouth to respond to that when Natasha interrupted them.
'Hey, Ved!' She greeted him brightly and hugged him. Nihal watched them with an annoyed face.
Natasha looked behind him, - 'Where is Aditya?'
Ved smiled forwarding the bouquet of roses, - 'He is running little late.' He informed, and Natasha nodded. She admired the roses and then looked up at him.
'They are beautiful.' She complimented and Ved gave a small nod. 'Well, come in.' Natasha turned around. Ved took a deep breath and walked in. He had taken only a step when he fell face front on the ground.
Ved fisted his fingers tightly on hearing Nihal's giggles. The little rascal tripped him.
'Oh, My God. Ved.' Natasha left the roses on the coffee table in front of the sofa and hurried to him. She held his arm and helped him stand. Ved looked at Nihal, he stopped giggling and glared at him. The two men shared cold stare until Asha appeared some inside the room. She greeted and hugged Ved.
Ved forced a smile and looked at Nihal, he forwarded him the shopping bag.
'Here Nihal, I got these for you.'
Nihal looked at the shopping bag, few toys peeking from inside the bag. He looked tempted, but he shook his head.
'Mumma says to not accept things from strangers.' He looked at Ved.
Natasha walked up to Nihal and held her son's shoulder, - 'Arey, Beta. He is not a stranger. He is Ved, your...Mumma's friend.' Natasha smiled avoiding Ved's gaze. Ved smiled to himself.
Nihal looked up at his mother, - 'Waah, really Mumma?' He asked brightly.
Natasha nodded and Nihal jumped on the spot. Ved is amazed at the little kid pounced on the bag.

Soon, Aditya joined them. Ved didn't miss the glances Aditya and Asha shared. When he caught his friend's gaze, the two exchanged a grin. But Ved's grin turned into a frown when he noticed Nihal bonding well with Aditya. Finally, when things were getting out of hand. Ved held Aditya's arm and dragged him to the corner.
'Dude, what are you doing?' Ved hissed. Aditya looked back cluelessly.
'What?' He shrugged.
Ved looked away briefly and then glared at Aditya, - 'I am here to impress Nihal, not you. I am to marry Natasha, not you,' He pointed out matter-of-factly.
Aditya smiled coolly, - 'So it is good na. If I impress Nihal, I will get to marry Natasha.' He joked.
Ved smirked menacingly, - 'Not if you want to be in one piece.' Aditya gulped.
'Ved? Aditya? Is everything all right?' Natasha glanced cluelessly at them.
'Nothing.' The men said in unison. Aditya then looked at Ved and made some excuses. Once he had left, Natasha looked at Ved.
In everything, Ved forgot to take time and admire his lady love. She looked stunning in wrap front, yellow pencil dress reaching her knee. Looking at her Yellow Closed Stiletto, Ved is confirmed she is obsessed with the color Yellow. Suddenly, he is loving the color too.
Ved is startled when Natasha wrapped her arms loosely around his neck. The two in a deserted corner of the house, alone. She smiled at him and flipped her hair to one side.
'What are you looking at?'
Ved found his gaze stuck on her moving red lips. She saw him lick his lips and smiled. She placed her palms on his chest and pushed him gently. Ved smiled.
'Enough staring. Come have dinner.' Natasha said and turned around but before she could go, Ved held her hand and pulled her closer. He held her waist and moved his other hand and brushed his fingers against her cheek, pushing aside strands of her chestnut-brown hair. She closed her eyes, smiling.
'You are looking so beautiful.' Ved whispered and caressed her cheek with the top of his nose. Natasha smiled widely and placed her palm on his chest.
'What are you doing, Ved?' – She blushed, - 'Nihal will come.'
Ved doesn't say anything but gripped her waist tightly and pulled her closer. She gasped opening her eyes. The two stared into each other eyes until....
'What is happening here, Mumma?
Hearing Nihal's voice the two jumped apart. Ved cursed inaudibly as Natasha quickly fixed her dress and hurried to her son. She held his shoulder and turned him around, - 'Nothing, Beta.' She said and the two began walking. As they walked, both mother and son turned to look at Ved. Natasha gave him a helpless look while the kid looked darkly at him.
That kid is messed up – Ved thought to himself.
