I had a different plot in mind when I started this, then something else happened when I was writing it.

Oxygen - All You Need Is Blood

          He's staring at me again.

For so many months of feeling those emerald green eyes boring into me every time I work, I still feel uncomfortable whenever he stares at me like that, like he's stripping me of my clothes one by one, piece by piece. It's been a bad habit of his. He's here every time I go to work like he's got my schedule memorized.

There's something creepy and intimidating about those emerald green eyes of his, or maybe it's his jet black hair that makes the hair on my back stand.  And who even wears an elegant coat and tie everyday to Midnight Orchestra? I don't really—

          "Maisie?"

I blink at the pretty lady sitting on the table I'm waiting. "What would you like, miss?"

"I've already told you the whole lot I wanna have. If you're gonna stand there staring at the man behind me, then you better leave your job so Midnight Orchestra can hire better waitresses."

How kind of you to give me that advice. "I'm sorry for that, miss. It won't happen again." Because I assure you, I will not let you talk to me like that ever again. You should be thankful you're a customer and I value my job. "Please tell me what you'd like to have," I asked her, notepad in hand.

"I'll have a lemon cake, a glass of green tea, two orders of coconut biscuits, and your special chocolate bar."

After jotting down her orders, I run back to the kitchen and tell the cooks what the order is.

When I come back outside, Lena approaches me. She's going to ask me a favor, I can tell by the way she walks. "What is it that you want me to do, Lena?"

She smiles sheepishly. "Maisie, can you wait on table thirty-two for me?" Then she whispers, "My boyfriend wants me home by now. You know we just got together. I don't want us to fight again."

I want to roll my eyes at that moment. Lena's always trying to do everything for that douchebag Ricky she calls her boyfriend, but what else can I do? Force her into a better man? Sighing, I nod. "Sure. Just make sure you remember to ask me to slap him hard if he tries to hurt you again."

          She laughs. "Will do."

And she's out the cafe before I know it.

Now, to wait on table thirty-two. I step out of the counter area and head to table thirty-two.

          "Twenty-nine, thirty, thirty-one, thirty..."

My eyes land on emerald green eyes. He flashes a smirk, a handsome one, his eyes trained on me. "Hey."

His voice. So cool, so soothing to the ears... I can't help but swoon inwardly. I bite my lip and hold my notepad tightly to keep my arms from shaking. "Good evening, sir. What would you want for tonight?"

          "You."

I gulp. Me? "Here's the menu, sir," I tell him, breathless, reaching a copy of the menu out to him.

But he just stares at it, then his eyes move back to me. "I want you for tonight."

"But, sir, I'm not on the menu." Gosh, Lena, why do you have to leave me to wait on this psycho?
