It was Dorothy! Of course it was. Wesley felt pleased because she was the reason he couldn't sleep. He turned and looked at her. She was still wearing the clothes she had on earlier no surprise there.
She smirked and then slid in opposite him. She brought out her pencil from her bun and her hair fell loose. Talk about improvisations. She then asked him
"So, what can I get for you Mr President?"
" very funny. Actually I'm happy I found you. I could not sleep. I.."
" falling in love with me already? That was quick Mr President but I'm not exactly first lady material. I don't wave, I don't smile, I don't like children, I don't wear suits and God I don't wear hats"
" You would look nice in a hat. You have the head for it"
" well I'm not ready to find out. What can I get for you. I have just 15minutes to close up so you better order take out "
" Have you eaten? "
" What does it matter to this conversation. I don't think you're ready to order"
Wesley laughed partly because he was nervous and because her stomach growled. Dorothy wasn't embarrassed no not at all. She was too tired for that. Wesley seeing that tiredness on her face said:
"I'm ready to order now. Two club sandwiches two packs of fries with chicken and two Diet Cokes"
Dorothy scribbled it down and slid out of the booth.
In about ten minutes she came back with his order. He paid and left her a nice tip one would say. After all he had wasted her time. He waited patiently for her to close up which was not long and then as she grabbed her scarf he waited outside the restaurant for her. He offered her a ride and she didn't decline claiming that he owes her as he almost killed her. They got in and he put on the radio. Along came the news which talked about him and his competition then Michael Franti's 'I love you' played. Dorothy liked the song as she nodded and by this time they were close to Wesley's house. He then asked
"I'm sorry I'm not used to having someone in the car. Where did you say you live? "
"I never did. I don't have a house. Most people are poor like that. I sleep at the club some days or in a man's house on other days."
Wesley was showing to his bones. He searched his brain for something to say. He then went with
"I hope to change that when I'm president so.."
" You wish" Dorothy bit back then cranked her neck laughing. Her hair down to her back. In that moment Wesley knew that Dorothy was either too tired of life or his campaign had no game.
