I stand on Ahch-To overlooking the waves crashing against the shore. After being stuck on a desert planet for the majority of my life, it was a welcoming sight to be surrounded by the water. The cliff I stood on became my favorite meditation spot for that exact reason.

"Rey?" Luke called from behind me. I turned facing the older man.

"I'm here Master," I replied walking towards his voice. I already knew what he wanted. It was time for my lessons.

I followed him into the temple, but instead of heading towards the training room we were heading deeper into the temple. I was confused, but remained quiet until we came into a room I had never seen before.

"Master? What is this place?" I asked while looking up at the arched ceiling above us. Detailed maps of star systems were carved onto the ceiling above us, and shelves of ancient Jedi texts covered every wall.

"It is time I explained who you are Rey," he smiles and gestures to a table in the middle of the room. I sit down across from him eager to hear his words.

I had waited for this moment since I arrived. When I first came I had asked him if he knew anything about my past. He did of course, but Luke had said it had not been the right time. Today I would finally find myself.

Luke clears his throat before pulling out a old wooden case from inside his robes. Gently he lays it in front of me. I move to open it. Slowly my fingers unlatch the lock at the front of the box.

Inside is a lightsaber. It is mostly black and silver with a short gold section at the top. It is thinner than the one I had. I lift it off of the worn cloth it lays on.

"Who's lightsaber is this?" I ask as I stare at the weapon. Luke chuckles and I look up at him.

"Your grandfathers," he whispers a twinkle in his blue eyes, and a smile spreading across his face. "His name was Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was my mentor."

I smile back, and suddenly it feels like I am complete. I am no longer just Rey. No longer the little girl abandoned by her family. No longer a lonely scavenger on Jakku. I am important. I am a Jedi. I am Rey Kenobi.

"Thank you Luke," I say happiness filling me, but now it is on to more serious matters. I can already tell by the look on Luke's face that there is something else.

"Leia has also sent a message," he begins a tone of dread in his words. I nod and wait for him to continue. "She wants you to go on a mission for the Resistance. She needs a leader for a squadron to infiltrate one of the First Order's bases. It's believed that more information on Snoke's location is there."

"Then I have to go," I reply already standing to go and retrieve my belongings.

"Rey wait," he grumbles, "I have to warn you. Kylo Ren could be there, and he has grown much more powerful since your last meeting."

"He's nothing I can't handle Luke," I say trying to make myself believe it as well. I might have beat him on Starkiller base, but it was a struggle. I wasn't sure I could do it again.

"I know that, but I need you to be careful. A lot of people are counting on you, and if something were to happen..." his voice trailed off.

I smile sadly. Luke had told me how he had lost his wife Mara years ago, and now with Han's recent death I know hard this is for him. It's hard for me to leave him too. He had helped me get past Han'd death, and although I still miss him Luke has made it that much easier.

I walk over and hug the older Jedi. "Don't worry. You're not going to lose me," I say looking up at him, "I promise."

He gives me one last squeeze before saying, "You better go before you make me cry." He fakes a small sniffle, and I laugh at him. Almost instantly I take off towards my room to gather my things.
