I also included this in my small series called "Mixed Signals" so don't be afraid to check it there too!

Author's Note: When I write gay, I don't mean it in a rude way. I'm not trying to offend anybody! It takes place in a time where it was a taboo subject.

They both divorced, both Marcia and her ex-husband. He left his wife, including their two kids. The reason was? He came out, to be precise, he's gay. Marcia didn't know that, only narrator does. His reason, he wanted a fresh start and left them with as much money he could give. He left a note, the money and some memories, without a word or whisper he was gone. She didn't know where he could have gone, but she didn't bother looking for him. All she could do was cry, sob, scream, curse his name to hell. She was angry, she paced around to calm herself, causing her to notice how bad their relationship was sinking these past months.

A year later.

She moved on. She wasn't working before at all, because her ex was the one working for the family. Now, she had to. Her children were still very young. The oldest child's name was Maya, she was born premature, though a miracle appeared in Maya's life. It saved her. The younger one is only a year younger from Maya. Unlike Maya, Michael was born a healthy baby.

Marcia was now working in an office for a company that wasn't as huge, but was growing slowly. Her co-workers, see her as hardworking, tenacious, and prestigious or laudable. She was also temporarily dating someone working in the same company from another department. Preston, was his name.

Preston was very interested in this woman, he knows as, Marcia. Although he heard rumors and knows her name and things that she's said but wasn't serious about. He wanted to know more. He began curious and asked her things, but the more he got close Marcia pushed him away.

She was once hurt before, so she won't let anything fool her again.

So she hit him, not physically but verbally. Saying things like, she's got children, financial problems, stress, and lots of problems that she thought would scare him away.

He looked at her frowning, not in pity, but in way that made him feel left out. Which he didn't let get to him. He still wanted her.

One night, Maya was in pain. She began to scream and groan. At midnight, woke up Marcia, also Michael. Michael seen his older sister cry out in pain, so he too began sobbing. Marcia was rushing through cabinets, looking for children's tylenol. A prescription for any pain Maya was going through. She found empty bottles. She had been so busy she'd forgotten her daughter's medication.

She was so tired, wanting to give up. Then she called someone. She called Preston.

She didn't know why she called him but she didn't regret doing it.

He took a long time to answer, but when he did, Marcia sobbed. Not blue but red. She was crying in anger. "You sure you want this? You wanna know about me?! Then get over here now! Bring me some children's tylenol! Please!" Before he could reply she hung up the phone.

She holding both Maya and Michael. Cooing them, "shh shh shh.."

He arrived with adult medication, he didn't have the children's tylenol. Soon after he arrived Maya began throwing up. She puked all over the carpet and mother's lap. Preston immediately did what he could and cleaned Maya up. After Maya puked all the bad acids and foods out of her stomach, she was no longer in pain. Preston assumed it was probably indigestion.

He made Marcia go to bed, tucked both Michael and Maya into bed. Then helped Marcia clean herself up, and tucked her into bed too. He lied down next to her and closely whispered, "Yes. I do want all of this. I need noise and chaos like this in my life." Then he kissed Marcia on her forehead, leaving her sleeping soundly.

EXTENDED ENDING:

Few years later both Maya and Micael grew a lil older around ages 10 and 9. Preston and Marcia, both got married, also added another child to the picture. Baby boy, well.. you decide the name!
