The Dark Truth

Seeing J: Ch 2

I look in the mirror as I tilt my head in thought. The dress Selina had for me was a black body-con dress with a cut out back and cut out of lines on the hips revealing a good bit of skin. It had gold diamonds on the front where it came down low to show a bit of cleavage, which I was endowed with a lot, and the only straps it had were low on my arms. She also decided I needed a bra that is literal straps to make a design on my chest.

The shoes, or should I say stilettos, she left were black and had little diamonds on the side. Despite me wearing stilettos I'm still pretty short, only lifted me to about 5'5. I had curled my long blond hair a bit and put on cat eyes with a smoky eye and dark red lipstick. the smoky eye did almost nothing considering my hazel eyes. I guess that's why I always appreciated j's eyes.

I nod my head and walk out to see Selina taking a vodka shot and her in a body-con dress as well, but hers was cut at the top in a striped design and she had a leather jacket on with black stilettos. She smirks as she sees me and whistles. "J is going to die over you, damn you look hot. Now come take a few shots with me!" I roll my eyes but smile at the nickname we gave jack when he was ten.

I walk over to her and pick up the shot glass and taps it on the island then drinks it down quickly. I shake my head at the taste and giggle, " alright let's get going, lead the way kitty cat." I motion for her to walk first and she meows at me as she grabs her bag and walks to the door. I grab my purse as we walk out.

~time skip~

We took a taxi and Selina told the man to go to 1875 Thomas Boulevard, which I assumed was where the club was. As we pull up to the place I notice all the bright neon green lights out front with one stating the name of the place in purple, J. I hesitated when I got out of the taxi and Selina looks at me. "Are you okay?" I nod my head and smile at her and we start walking to the door, but before we could just walk in, a bouncer stops us.

In a mean and rough voice he growls out " Mr. J said kitty cat was not allowed here anymore, neither are her.... friends and or entourages." As he says friends he looks me up and down with disgust. I growl out of frustration and Selina looks at me with an 'I got this' smirk. She runs a finger down his chest and gives him innocent eyes as she speaks in such a seductive tone even I would fall for her.

"Look, Larry, I know you're very loyal to J so just tell him, I've brought an old mutual friend along for a... reunion. Could you do that for me big boy?" She winks at him and you can see his resolve crumbling. He nods his head fast and quickly tells us to wait there. He runs into the building and she winks at me as she goes in and I follow quickly. As you walk in you see how bright it is, although the lights were off, there were strobe lights of neon purple and green everywhere. There were half dressed girls in what seemed to be a black mask with pointed ears dancing in cages. I look to my left to see a beaded area with golden light coming from it and next to it was a wall which behind I supposed was a walkway to the balcony above. I suppose that was for VIP because there were two bodyguards and a red velvet rope separating it from us. Selina smirks at me but the smirk is quickly changed to shock as you hear a growl from the VIP area.

All of a sudden a very tall, slim man with green slicked back hair is storming over to us. He looks pissed and I back away a bit as he approaches Selina. Somehow Selina is standing there with a smile on her face while I'm freaking out. The angry man, wearing a silver suit with a red unbutton shirt underneath, growls at Selina. "I thought I told you never to come back here! And what's this about an old friend!" His voice shocks me, it's smooth and drawn out but terrifying at the same time. Selina motions to me and he looks me up and down in confusion. "Who the he.." he cuts himself off and his eyes widen as he looks at me again. That's when I realized who the man was, I could never forget those eyes. The piercing blue of them shook me to my core, I barely heard Selina talking to the man I had been friends with for 11 years. "Joker, this is Lizzy."

Flashback

I was trying to balance myself on a steel beam underneath the twin ladies bridge. As I walked across it and jumped down I heard crying, how I heard it in this big city I would never know, but it was definitely crying.

I walked towards the noise and find myself at this old house. I noticed the open window and tilted my head in confusion. I looked at the tree next to the window and climbed up it and finally got to a branch that was close to the window. I balanced myself on it like I did with the beam and walked up to the window and knocked on the seal. A boy jumped from his spot on the bed and the first thing I notice is his piercing blue eyes. He looks startled and starts rambling. "You have to get out of here, who are you, I'll get in trouble please leave." I jump into the house and look him up and down. He had messy brown hair and those beautiful eyes. His clothes looked old and torn and he had bruises on him in many different spots.

I look back at him with sadness in my eyes and voice as I say, "I'm Lizzy, what's your name? How old are you?" It takes him a couple of minutes until he whispers out," jack, I'm jack. I 'm seven years old. How old are you?" I smile " I'm six, want to be friends?" He looks at me very confused and he stays silent. I hear yelling downstairs and he starts panicking again. I put my finger to my mouth and shush him and grabs his wrist as I pull him to the window with me. He pulls away and shakes his head. I think for a second and then look at him with wide eyes. "Will you be my friend?" I say childishly and he panics as the voices get closer and rush out "yes now go!" I smile and jump out the window. I run back to the bridge and think about what had just happened.

End of flashback

"Lizzy?" Jack said in a rough almost scared voice which reminded me of the first day we met. I wave shyly and smile, "hi J."
