'baby, where are the christmas decorations? i swear i left them in the hall closet last- never mind,  found them' luke was frantically pacing around the house as he started getting all of his christmas decorations ready for the holidays. michael was advised not to help, because god for bid he ruined anything for the small blond; all because one year michael broke one of their ornaments.

michael chuckled as he sipped on an extremely hot cup of tea which he probably shouldnt have been holding because his hand was practically burning. luke pouted at him as he dragged the box out of the closet, using the balls of his feet to move. once it was out of the closet and in the middle of the hallway, luke sat down on the floor and started pulling things out.

'mikey, can you put this over by the - no wait i dont want it there this year. hmm' luke stood up, a strand of lights wrapped around his arm and a few little items in his hands as he decided where to put the little santa figurine. michael stayed patient with the fast paced boy, placing the item wherever luke thought it might look nice.

'ok, nevermind, ill find a spot for it later. it just doesnt look nice with the other things' luke let out a frustrated huff, holding his forehead in distress.

over the years, michael had learned that luke liked things to go a certain way, and when they didnt luke nearly lost his mind. dont get him wrong, luke wasnt the snotty guy that many of the guys in the world turn out to be, he just really liked things to be perfect. michael was always telling him that nothing is perfect, but nine out of ten times, luke ends up in tears because he gets so frustrated.

luke sighed and started hanging lights on the window sill, silent wishing they had a fireplace because 'they would look better on a fireplace' and michael just laughed at the perfectionist he got to call his husband.

ella stumbled into the room, her little legs still not as strong as they needed to be to get her to where she needed to go without falling. luke looked over at her and smiled, quick to bend down and show her the christmas lights. ella giggled and touched them, playing with the little white bulbs.

'wait mikey, do you think this is her first christmas? because we dont know when she was born' luke smiled when michael shrugged because he was going to make sure this was her perfect first christmas.

-

'uki!' ella was sitting on michaels lap as he fed her rice, and luke was cleaning his plate. she saw him and tried to wiggle her way out of michaels hold, but to no avail. she started getting upset and teary eyed and flopped back onto michaels chest. luke cooed as he saw her dramaticly strech her arms out to him.

she started crying when luke didnt immediately hold her so luke chuckled and grabbed her out of michaels hands. she stopped crying as soon as she was in lukes embrace, and she snuggled her head up into his neck. michael just shook his head in amusement.

'ya know, i try to be nice to the little thing and this is the thanks i get' michael threw his arms in the air and went to throw ellas extra food away. luke just smiled and gently rocked ella to sleep.

-

luke couldnt find his favorite christmas ornament, it was a tiny sleigh that michael had given him on their first christmas together. it had the date of their first date on it in cursive with their initials and, god luke was panicking because he loved that sleigh.

'mikey, dont be mad' michael looked up from the pile of mail he was shifting through to see luke playing with his nails, something he only did when he was nervous. michael put the mail down and walked over to luke, holding both of his hands in his own, rubbing the tops of them with his thumbs.

'whats up? something wrong?' luke let out a shaky sigh as he looked at michael with sad eyes.

'im- im not sure what happened to the little sleigh that you got us for our first christmas' luke was so upset, and michael could tell. he just chuckled sadly and pulled the boy in for a hug. luke kept mumbling quiet 'sorry's as he willed himself not to get overly upset. unfortunately, both michael and luke knew that this sleigh was the one thing luke always made sure was out on their coffee table and, to luke, the table looked bare and now the whole room was ruined.

'lukey, you gotta calm down. im sure its here somewhere. are you sure you checked all the christmas boxes?' luke nodded and wiped his eyes, walking back over to where he left the boxes.

'i-i remember last year when we put everything away, i put all the important stuff in this box so i would make sure not to lose it and thats exactly what i did. im sorry' michael shook his head.

'dont apologize, love. it was a mistake'

luke sighed, 'i dont like making mistakes'

'uki!' ella walked into the room, her hand stretched out to luke as she showed him the tiny sleigh, which looked huge in her tiny hands. it was wet, indicating that she had drooled all over it, and she was smiling brightly as she handed it to him.

'ella! you took our sleigh?' michael scooped the baby up and held her in the air, smiling as she giggled, 'mi'ey!'
