Luk woke with a start. Where was she? Where was Lexi? Oh crap! She must have gone home!

*******************

Lexi kept running through the woods. She had no idea where she was going. With no where else to go, she collapsed on a fallen tree stump.

Lexi looked up at the stars with an expression of nothing but sadness.

"God, I understand if you are mad at me, but don't take it out on Hunter. None of this was his fault. Or Luk's," Lexi whispered to the night sky.

******************

Luk ran through the woods to the spot where he had assumed Lexi to be, but she wasn't there. Left with no choice, he began to trudge back to the last spot he had seen her.

When he got there, there was still no sign of Lexi anywhere. Sighing he sat down and prepared to sit out the long night hoping she would return.

******************

Lexi knew that if Hunter died she would never forgive herself. They may have been fighting, but she still cared about him. Even if it wasn't enough to stay with him. Although Lexi loved Luk she prayed he would not try to find her. If he found her would he finally turn her in?

Deep in her heart Lexi knew that Luk would never turn her in. He cared too much. Lexi loved Luk with all her heart, but the manhunt had already started. She could run and let him take the blame, but she just wouldn't do that.

Sighing, Lexi stood up and started walking to the police station.

As she walked, Lexi began to recognize the landmarks of the woods around her.

Nearby, was the barn where Seth had planned to kill Hunter. This dwelling stirred many unhappy memories. Pleading with Seth. Running with Hunter. Getting shot. After all this time, this place hasn't changed one bit.

Suddenly, Lexi realized something horrible. After all this time, she had finished the job Seth had started!

*****************

It was morning already. Luk looked closely at his watch. Ten o'clock. Sighing Luk stood up and began to walk in the opposite direction that he had walked the night before.

It was already two o'clock when Luk arrived at the abandoned barn where Lexi had been tormented and Hunter almost murdered. Curious, he walked inside. There was nothing in the first room so he opened a door into a small bedroom. At least, he thought it was a bedroom.

Luk halted a few feet inside the doorway.

"Lexi?" Luk whispered. He was staring at a whimpering shape huddled on the floor in front of the far wall. Right in front of his eyes the shape turned, and when it did Luk saw not Lexi, but a person who's name he did not know.

"I thought I might be able to lure you in here," the unknown person muttered. "You wouldn't recognize me. However, I know you well. You are Lukas, are you not?"

"Yes. My name is Lukas Daniels, but you can call me Officer Daniels."

"You're dating Lexi now aren't you?"

"Why do you want to know?"

The person smirked. "I," he announced dramatically, "am Seth."

Luk stared at him in shock and horror. This was the man who had tried to kill Lexi! His thoughts were stopped abruptly when Seth brought the butt of the gun he was carrying on Luk's head.
