Isabella’s P.O.V
We arrive at the big oak in the little clearing in the woods still laughing at all the times I have started daydreaming and missed something important. Jamie’s infectious laugh and my uncontrollable giggles ring out in the silent woods. This leaves us completely unprepared for the attack.
I jump out of my skin as Sky launches herself at Jamie from the tree above our heads. He tries to fight her off but Sky is completely in control of the situation and fights him to the ground. She becomes a blur as she runs circles around him initiating kicks and punches before he can fight back. She keeps fighting until he is on the ground, wheezing in pain. When she’s finished attacking him she stands next to me and admires her work before dissolving into fits of laughter, which sets me off giggling.
Jamie, who is still on the floor, is clutching at his leg and crying out in pain, he gives us both a frustrated look before he starts screaming at Sky.
“What the hell Sky? What was that for?” he yells at her.
“For breaking my nose last week” she spits at him in between fits of laughter.
“It’s not funny. You’ve broken my leg!” he screams in frustration. But this just makes Sky laugh harder, clutching to her stomach as she laughs at his enraged expression. “Shut up! It’s not funny! It hurts.” He argues. “Bella!” He turns on me, clearly angry that I’m laughing too.
“I’m … sorry … but you did deserve it … you did break her nose” I try to say in between giggles, but he just glares at me.
Oliver appears in the clearing and looks between Sky, who is now rolling around the floor laughing, and Jamie, who is glaring at Sky whilst still clutching his leg. He rolls his eyes and turns to me “what have they done now?”
I try unsuccessfully to control my giggles but Jamie answers before I can “the bitch broke my leg that’s what.”
Oliver sighs “you did break her nose” he tries to reason with him.
“Yeah, Jamie, you did.” I agree with him.
“Fine” he gives in, then looks to Sky and offers his hand “truce?” He asks Sky begrudgingly.
Sky stops rolling around on the floor and stands up, she cocks her eyebrow at Jamie then strolls over and shakes his hand “truce” she confirms.
I roll my eyes and head towards Jamie. “That’s what? The fourth truce this month?” I ask, teasingly. He glares at me but then winces in pain. “Come on” I say as I offer him my hand and try to pull him up.
But as soon as he puts weight on his injured leg he cries out in pain and collapses to the floor. “Baby” Sky shoots at him. But quickly turns her attention away as Oliver gives her a disapproving look.
Then Tom springs down from a tree and looks between Jamie and Sky who have gone back to glaring at each other. He chuckles and walks over to Oliver and I. “What have they done now?”
“She broke his leg” I catch him up.
“Ouch. You okay man?” he asks Jamie.
“Yeah, great” he replies sarcastically.
“Iz? Can’t you fix him?” Tom asks me.
“Um, yeah, probably” You see, as vampires we all get a specific ‘gift’, as we like to call them. For some people it’s just an attribute which has strengthened since becoming a vampire. For some, it’s barely noticeable, for some, it’s very handy. Our gifts are all effectively a human talent which has been exaggerated; it comes from witch blood mixed with our vampire blood. Centuries ago it was just one blood line, nowadays, its most blood lines. And my gift is having healing hands.
