Pride and Proposals?

Chapter One

Two weeks ago Elizabeth Benetts parents forced her to accept Mr.Collins' marriage proposal. Now she must travel to Rosings to meet his esteemed patroness Lady Catherine DeBourge. Instead of choosing one of her sisters she chose her dearest friend Charlotte Lucas to go with her as her chaperone. They were leaving the next morning and Elizabeth couldn't be in a worse mood. "I don't see why I have to be presented to Lady Catherine it isn't like she is the one who has to approve of our marriage that is Father's job!" She said as she rather violently shoved a dress into her travel chest. "Lizzy I know you are unhappy but at least you will get to see your future home and find some good walking paths. You do so love your little hikes." Name said trying to appease her sister's anger. "You are right in that Jane but i am afraid that every other aspect of this trip will be extremely unpleasant. The rest of my life too with that odious man." As much as Jane had tried in the two weeks since the engagement she could not make Lizzy see the good side of her situation. "Oh Lizzy im sure you will find some way to deal with it we can not both be unhappy for ever." Jane said the last part softly her heart was still pained by the absence of Mr. Bingley. "Oh my dear Jane I'm so sorry I've been so wrapped Up in my own dramatics that I have completely ignored you and your heartbreak. Please forgive me and tell me how you feel." Lizzy sat in their shared bed finally done with packing. "Oh lizzy there is nothing to forgive I was never angry at you. And on the subject of Mr.Bingley I am of course still upset but much less so than I was right after his departure." Lizzy was so sad to hear of her sister's unhappiness but knew that their dear aunt and uncle could cheer her up. Jane was leaving only two days after Lizzy for London to stay with their aunt and uncle. "Well my dear Jane I hope you find London very pleasing for I do hate to see you unhappy." The two sisters spoke a little longer before deciding it wise to go to bed.
