A plaintive sound, that is what brings me to life. A sound that runs in my veins, by passes my valves, reaches my silent chambers and blows a wave of electricity that jolts my heart back to life.

My mind awakens from the state of tranquility and before a thought is formed it decipher's the doleful sound.

A sob? I hear someone sobbing. I can feel the overwhelming pain in their voice.

"Make it stop" She.... it's a girl. She whispers with a quivering voice.  "Please help" she inhales "Make it stop" There were no words after, only her cries that filled the spaces in my mind.

My eyelids flicker, with the help of the faint light in the room I can see her lying on her bed. She's holding on to something, a pillow? Ah it's a stuffed bear. She doesn't look younger than 15 years old I think.

I began to approach her. She doesn't hear the loud steps I'm making on her bedroom floor, even when I'm right in front of her bed, she still doesn't notice me.

She's crying, so I do what I'm created to do, I climb on her bed and hold her.

As my arms wrap around her body. She stops sobbing and freezes for a moment. Slowly she turns to look at my face. "Wh-who are you?" She asks as her lips tremble, but not in fear, in curiosity. I look at her but this time I notice the confusion in her brown wary eyes, are replaced with hope.

"My name is Darlene, I heard you crying. Heard the surface of your heart cracking and the fibers snapping as you pleaded for help, so I came to rescue you from what ever is causing you so much sorrow" I say, with a soft smile in hopes it
brings her some comfort

"How did you hear me? How did you get in my room?" she asks but still I see the pounding hope in her eyes. My hands are still holding her, she didn't push them away.

I answer her as I put on the sweetest smile "Im not really human. I hear the cries of many fragile children, women and men. And I come to them when they seek my help, to fill the holes inside them that were ripped and taken away. I can leave if that's what you want, but if you let me stay then you'll never be alone. I
will be here with you, always"

She looks at my eyes then down to my hands that are placed on her arm. And I can already tell what the next question will be.

"Are you an angel?" she asks bewildered. And I answer her as I answered many before "Yes I am, and I am here to
help you that is my job"

She started to cry again but this time I sensed some relief. She began to move and my hands fall away from her body. For one second I think she's gonna ask me to leave but that thought is quickly dismissed when her arms are wrapped around
me, hugging me so tightly.

Between her sharp inhales and cries she says "Please don't leave me" I hold her even tighter as if I'm holding together all her vulnerable parts so they wouldn't break. I reply, while still holding her "I'm not going anywhere"

I'm not going anywhere but you will... You definitely will. Excitement fills up my heart. Another easy soul will be added on my shelf of victory, let's see how long this one can hold, it’ll be fun breaking her.
