--A.N.: Hello! This is my first attempt at making a story on Wattpad. I hope you enjoy it. Chapter 2 should be out in... I don't know when. Lol. But hopefully soon. If you like it, some positive feedback wouldn't hurt :)--
Avery and Chadder were happy.
Running along the sizable, alluring flowers, conversing about irregular topics, catching insects and fish blissfully. Indeed, they were happy, but all happiness comes to an end.
'BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!' Avery's alarm clock shrieked. She keened crossly, slamming her fingers against the small sphere. 'Why did I wake up today,' she thought to herself grumpily. 'I just want to sleeeep...'
Crabbily peeling off her pajamas, she eyed the houses outdoors through the configuration of her blinds. Pecan the squirrel, one of her best friends and also her neighbor, was there, situated on the stump close to both of their houses. The stump had always been a place for the villagers to relax and perpend, and if you wanted the chance to sit on it, you were required to arrive primal in order to claim it before anyone else. A thoughtful smile spread on her face as Avery observed her close friend.
Completing her change of clothes, she swiftly turned the key to her house and pushed open her jean-colored door. Shutting it with a soft 'snap', she padded over to Pecan, her red sneakers creating slight taps in coordination on the dirt. As she approached the feminine, the small town was still. Avery enjoyed the aesthetic vibe of it, the peach trees quietly blowing in the soft breeze, the foliage so enjoyable to stare at.
"Good morning, Pecan." Avery grinned at her friend as she folded her arms behind her back.
"Ah, it's Princess!" Pecan exclaimed with a smile as she turned, including Avery's nickname she had created for her. Pecan was the only one who could call her that. "It's very lovely outside today, don't you agree?"
Avery nodded. "It really is. It's my favorite; not too hot, and not too cold, but the sun still shines from the sky, so the slight rays feel so nice!"
"Definitely, darling," Pecan said with a happy sigh. "By the way, I thought I saw Pete stop by your mailbox earlier this morning. I suggest you check."
"Hm. Alright, I will," Avery stated. "Thanks for telling me!"
"You're welcome. Tell me what it's about!" Pecan called after her friend, who was already racing toward her navy blue mailbox, her hoodie strings giving elasticity as she absconded.
When Avery reached her mailbox, she unburdened the slot, and what laid beneath her eyes was a small white envelope. Her heart raced with excitement to see what was inside, and she couldn't wait to expose the words on the page. The anticipation filled her as she slashed the envelope open. The letter read:
Dear Avery,
I've been dreading this day for a while now, but I think it's time I'd tell you. I'm moving away. I didn't want it to end like this, and I'm so sorry. As I write this, I already miss you a lot. But it's time for me to explore the rest of the world... Again, I'm sorry. I just haven't been getting along with many of the villagers lately, and I needed an escape. Maybe one day I'll come back, but the chances are very slim. I can't express how much I'll miss you, but this needed to be done. If you'd want to stay in touch, Here's my new town address:
[Paper was damaged in this area]
I hope you can forgive me.
Chadder
(Dun dun dun.. oh I forgot I'm not funny lmao)
