My eyes glossed over as I gazed out of the window if my science class, happy that it was the last class of the day and we only had a pep rally to get through before Thanksgiving break. The teachers at my small school were nice, and were letting this day be a 'make up day', in other words we just hung out all day. I smiled as a gust of wind blew a handful of leaves past the window in a brilliance of reds, oranges, and golds. I let out a sigh of content and closed my eyes as I thought of how I could incorporate that image into my next drawing.
Suddenly, my train of thought was interrupted by the feeling of being watched creeped up my side and stayed there. I opened my eyes and looked to my left to see the golden eyes of the new transfer student lock with my own dark brown ones. He quickly looked down at his desk, his messy golden and red hair covering his face as he stared down and pulled his red jacket hood over his head. I started to rise from my seat, preparing to go over and talk to him.
"Hey, Dearest." Coach Felix, my science teacher calls out to me. I look to him questionably and he waves me over. I stand up and start to walk to his desk, his light gray wolf ears twitching slightly as I approach. I stopped in front of his desk.
"Sir?" I ask.
He picks up a folder with a small stack of papers in it and holds it up.
"Will you take this to Ms. Eliza's class and give it to Meelee for me?" I nod and take the folder from him.
"Which one?"
"Hinnoka." I nod once more, shrug on my green backpack, and walk out of his classroom. The hallways were buzzing with an endless chatter of student's conversations and the different tunes of their music floating out of the open classroom doors.
I finally come to a stop outside of the correct door, and start to look around inside for the curly haired neko that is Ms. Eliza. I finally spot her in a corner, watching over the students. I wave to her, and she looks over to me questionably, her fluffy honey colored cat tail swishing gently behind her. I held up the folder and pointed to Hinnoka, she nodded and I entered the class.
I walked up behind the brown and gray haired neko as quietly as I could...and patted her head. She sighed.
"Hi Guin." She spoke. Some of the students sitting next to her looked confused. She looked at them and explained. "Guin is the only person I know that pats my head." She turned to me, her hazel eyes curious behind her tiny glasses. "Why are you here, I thought you had Felix's class last." I held out the folder to her.
"This is for you." She took the folder, opened it' and groaned.
"It's make-up work from when I was absent helping out at the hospital." I raised one of my eyebrows.
'I didn't know about that.' I think to myself.
"Well it's the only magic I'm good at, and the hospital was completely full. So, I helped, I had no reason not to." The bell rang as she finished, and students started to walk to the football field as Hinnoma slipped on her purse she insisted on carrying. As we joined the wave of students she questioned me. "What is it?"
"I don't think I'll ever understand why you insist on wearing a purse while in shcool. I can barely stand one without it getting in the way of me while I'm trying to pick up books." That was what our conversation consisted of as we walked, just us arguing over stupid things that makes us sound crazy. Yep, it's a normal day for us, well it was until I heard a familiar voice.
