I walked down the dim lit road, small raindrops falling from the sky and dropping softly on my head. I walked faster as the rain got heavier and colder. The wind was howling and the rain was pouring by the time I got home. It would be a long night.
"Where were you?" He asked. I briefly responded "Out" and picked up my pace making my way up to my room. I don't like keeping these secrets but I don't have a choice. I have to keep this secret, or my whole life could and would be taken away. It's not like he would even believe me if I told him. Unless you see it with your own eyes, you'd never believe it. I can understand it sounds insane and trust me, it is, but it's true.
I sit in my room with silent tears running down my face as I think of the fate that awaits me tomorrow.
I wake up to the loud noise of birds singing their melodic song. I stand up and it feels like my brain is going to explode inside my skull. 'Must have been from when one of 'em got me yesterday.' I think to myself as I pull open my dresser drawer. I grab my tight black bodysuit, my "uniform" one might say, and a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Just so he doesn't notice my other outfit.
I slowly stammer over the the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I strip off my clothes from the day before and turn on the hot water. "There's nothing a hot shower can't fix." I hear mom's voice say quietly in my head. I let the water burn my shoulders and back as I think. I think of mom, and what dad was like before she died. I think of when I was a kid and how we used to always go to Mindy's Ice Cream every Saturday. I think of what my life would be like if she was still here, and I wasn't one of them.
I step out of the flowing stream of burning H2O. A warm towel wrapped around my body when I hear it. She's summoning me. Early, I might add. I quickly get dressed and fix my hair. I open the door with a bang and my head whips in the direction of the clock; 8am. She's not early, I'm late. This won't be good.
