[The fairies alone in the castle, drinking tea]

Goodway: Silly fiddle faddle!

Katie: Now, come have a nice cup of tea, dear. I'm sure it'll work out somehow.

Everest:  Well, a bonfire won't stop Maleficent.

Goodway: Of course not. But what will?

Katie: Well, perhaps if we reason with her.

Goodway: Reason?

Everest: With Sweetie?

Katie: Well, she can't be all bad.

Goodway: Oh, yes, she can.

Everest: I'd like to turn her into a fat ole hoptoad!

Katie: Now, dear, that isn't a very nice thing to say.

Goodway: Besides, we can't. You know our magic doesn't work that way.

Katie: It can only do good, dear, to bring joy and happiness.

Everest: Well, that would make me happy.

Goodway: But there must be some way ... There he is!

Everest: There he is?

Katie: What is it, Goodway?

Goodway: I'm going to ... shh, shh, shh! Even walls have ears.

(Goodway sneaks around the corners)

Goodway: Follow me!

(Goodway minimizes herself, the other two follow her into the insides of a something on the table)

Goodway: I'll turn her into a flower!

Everest: Sweetie?

Goodway:Oh no, dear, the princess!

Katie: Oh she'd make a lovely flower.

Goodway: Don't you see, a flower can't prick its finger.

Everest: It hasn't any.

Katie: That's right.

Goodway: She'll be perfectly safe.

Everest: Until Sweetie sends a frost.

Goodway: Yes, a ... oh dear!

Katie: She always ruins your nicest flowers.

Goodway: You're right. And she'll be expecting us to do something like that.

Everest: But what won't she expect, she knows everything.

Katie: Oh but she doesn't dear. Sweetie doesn't know anything  about love, or kindness, or the joy of helping earnest.  You know, sometimes I don't think she's really very happy.

Goodway: (getting excited)  That's it, of course! It's the only thing she can't  understand, and won't expect. (to herself) oh, oh,  now, now ... We have to plan it carefully, let's see, woodcutters cottage, yes, yes, the abandoned one,  of course the King and Queen will object, but when
we explain it's the only way ...

Everest: Explain what?

Goodway: About the three peasant women raising a foundling child deep in the forest.

Katie: Oh, that's very nice of them.

Everest: Who are they?

Goodway: Turn around!

(While Everest and Katie turn around to face a mirror, Goodway changes their outfits to peasant dress)

Katie: iih ... why, it's ... us!

Everest: You mean, we, us?

Katie: Take care of the baby?

Goodway: Why not?

Katie: Oh, I'd like that!

Everest: (notices that her dress is pink and changes its color to blue) Well, yes, yes, but will we have to feed it?

Katie: And wash it and dress it and rock it to sleep. Oh I'd love it.

Everest: You really think we can?

Goodway: If humans can do it, so can we.

Everest: And we have our magic to help us.

Katie: That's right.

Goodway: Oh, no, no, no, no, no magic! I'll take those wands right now. Oh, better get rid of those wings, too.

Everest: You mean, live like mortals? For sixteen years?  (Goodway removes Everest's wings) Now, we don't know how. We've never done anything without magic.

Goodway: And that's why Sweetie will never suspect.

Everest: But who'll wash, and cook?

Goodway: Oh, we'll all pitch in.

Katie: I'll take care of the baby!

Goodway: Let me have it, dear.

(still hunting for Everest's wand)

Goodway: Come along now, We must tell their majesties at once.

(Goodway changes herself to normal size, but first forgets about Katie and Everest)

Katie: Goodway!

Everest: Goodway!

(Goodway notices and blows up Katie and Everest. They leave the room. Outside
the castle, we see Marshall and the Queen at a balcony looking down towards the the fairies
carrying the baby away)

Ryder: So the king and his queen watched with heavy hearts as their most precious possession, their only child, disappeared into the night.
