"You have to audition!"
Melody shut the door to her locker quietly, swung her backpack over her shoulder, and began her to walk to first period with her best friend, Kurt Hummel. For the past thirty minutes, he had been going on and on about how the Glee club was having auditions later that day after school.
"I don't know Kurt..." Melody shrugged. She pushed a strand of her short, purple dyed hair behind her ear. Today she wore a pair of black leggings, a long grey tank top, and black converse. "Doesn't that require, like, performing?"
"Well, yeah." He stepped in front her, stopping Melody in her tracks. He dramatically puts a hand on his hip and pointed to a flyer hanging on the wall beside her head. Of course, it was the Glee club auditions sign up sheet. "It's the perfect way to put our names out there!"
"Wait-" Melody gave him a quizzical look. "How did you manage to stop me right here?"
Kurt rolled his eyes. "I'm special like that.... And so are you! Which is why you should audition with me."
"I don't know Kurt." She bit her bottom lip nervously, looking at the sheet. It already had a few signatures, one of which belonged to Rachel Berry. Melody only really knew her as the girl she once was partners with on a science project. Not to mention the fact the Rachel somehow managed to dress like a toddler and a grandma at the same time...Which Melody strangely admired. "Being in front of people isn't really my thing...I'll leave that up to Finn-"
"Shush!" The teenage boy says quickly, pressing a finger to her lips to quiet her. Melody went cross eyed slightly as she looked at his finger, her newly done eyebrows curving downward. "No more of that, 'Finn is more special crap'...We're both going to audition, whether you like it or not."
"Let's make a deal-" She says, gently pushing Kurt's finger off of her lips. Melody smirks slightly as she crosses her arms. "I'll audition...And if I make it pass auditions, I'll at least give it a shot..."
"Mel I swear to God if you start singing that musical again-" He says jokingly with a small chuckle.
"Don't think that'll stop me-" She laughs. After a moment, her face calmed, only to become a deep red. "Now hand me a pen before I change my mind-"
Kurt grins happily as he pulls a red pen out of his pocket and gladly hands it to her. Melody sighs, and turns to the sign up sheet. Not very many people were actually signed up. But the teenage girl still heavily doubted that she would be chosen...Which was the whole reason she decided to make the bet with Kurt in the first place.
The thought made her smirk slightly as she signed her name in the red ink: "Melody R. H."
