"She's pregnant Ron." Anayah told Ronné while taking a sip of coffee.
"What!? Everything is going so fast. After she caught you two, and you're actually with Renar now, Kathy's pregnant!? This is too much to take in. I'm sorry I was cold to you. I had no idea things were this serious." Ronné quickly said, her hand on her forehead, "Dylan is just so reckless. He got her pregnant. He should have been more careful."
"He said he's going to marry her. But he told me, as he embraced her, that he loves me. I can't take this anymore."
"He's got some nerve. Well, he's supposed to marry her or whatever. And you should start taking it hunny, cuz you're with someone else now. I know you don't love Renar, but you do have feelings for him. That's a great start." Ronné sipped her coffee as well.

"Mama?" Analeigh shut the front door. She was finally home after a long trip with her college mates. There was no one home; her parents were at work and Anayah, at school.
She put her luggage in her room and decided to watch some television before they got back."Gosh I missed this bed." She threw herself on her comfy bed and started changing channels, "I wonder what hermanita has been up to."
***
"Are you really going to marry her? I mean it's the right thing to do but Ion know... You look..." Renar stared at Dylan. They were having lunch at Renar's."Stressed? Pissed? You name it. I hate my life. I should have been more careful." Dylan gulped down his juice.
"Gee, you should have. Why the heck didn't you guys use protection? You're tied to a girl you don't love. I mean, it's obvious you're forcing yourself to love her again but it looks so fake." He continued to stare, "Well, it's to my advantage. Anayah is mine. I told you I'll make her eat her words. Haven't forgotten bout that."
Dylan got up angrily, "You better not hurt her or I'll kill you Renar! I mean it!"
"Threatening me in my own house?" Renar slouched in his chair, smirking, "She's not your property. What ever you tell her about me now would be pointless. She won't listen to you. You're just a lovesick dude who needs to sit down and not waste my mom's cooking." He continued, "I'm not going to hurt Anayah, I'm just gonna make her take back her stupid words at the bar. It's that simple."
"You don't love her Renar, and she doesn't either. Ayah loves me! And if I manage to solve this Kathy problem, I'll take her away from you. Count on that."
"And I'm just gonna cross my arms and let you do that?" Renar got up and went closer to face Dylan, "Anayah is mine. I don't like who I'm turning out to be cuz of her. She makes me a better person. I don't like it. But I'm not gonna like seeing her with You even more. Besides, I need her to tell me she loves me. Then I'll erase all my plans for her, since that night."
"No one's ever going to replace me in her heart. Not even You. She's never gonna tell you she loves you. She never will."
"What's going on here?" Larina showed up from the kitchen.
"Nothing, aunt." Dylan smiled.
"We were just talking... About a girl." Renar scratched his head.
Larina smiled lightly, "Miss Madrigal is it?"
"Maybe." Renar smiled at his mother.
"You boys better not pull even one hair off her head, or you'll have to deal with me." She said in a serious tone, "She's not your play thing. You better not do anything to that girl. I don't want any problems with my friend, Ashley, or much less, Danilo. Got it?"
"Tell that to your son." Dylan glared at Renar.
"Got it?" She asked again, a bit louder.
"Si claro, mama."
"Yah, aunt. You've got nothing to worry about."
"Good."

Anayah walked into the Catholic church and sat there for a while, meditating. She wanted to get things off her chest without getting judged or scolded. She decided to go under the secrecy of confession.Anayah's father is Catholic and her mother, a Presbyterian. She didn't really fancy confessing her sins to a priest, but she watched a couple of shows and saw it to be fun and dramatic. So she decided to give it a try.
She sat in the confession box, the priest said a few words, and she did too. She was now ready to talk.
"Father, in this church I received this ring to remind me of my vow. But I still do immoral things. I was ready to give myself to a boy I love, but stopped and asked for forgiveness. But I can't seem to control myself anymore. I act indecently, thinking that my vow was only to remain a virgin, so I can do a lot of bad things except having sex. But that's not the case. I feel so ashamed." She cried.
The priest just remained silent, listening to her.
She continued, "I have hurt a lot of people. And I'm keeping my father's secret from my mother. I don't know if it's the right thing to do but I love my family so much. I can't lose any of them."
It was silent for a while then the priest spoke, "God has heard you, my child. He will guide you."
Anayah just sighed and left the church, unsatisfied with the priest's words but she actually was glad he didn't say much.
She walked past an old lady wanting to cross the road, and reversed to assist her.
"The Vulture will pluck out your eyes when you least expect it." The old lady murmured after they crossed.
"Excuse me?" Anayah stared at her.
"There is a lot of deceit around you Lucero Madrigal." The old lady whispered, looking up at her.
"What the? How'd you know my name? And what are you talking about?"
"Do not trust anybody. And above all, do not trust the vulture! Do not trust the vulture! Do not trust the vulture..." The old lady walked away slowly, repeating those words.
Anayah just stood there and watched her, stupefied.
"That's what you get for helping weird old ladies. A whole lotta crazy." She squinted, walked to her car which was parked on the other side of the road and drove home.

"Let's get to work Sergio. We must finish this project. It's due next week!" Ronné snatched his phone from him and noticed he was texting an unsaved number, which looked very familiar. He aggressively took the phone back from her, not wanting her to see the content of his text.
"Who's V?" Ronné laughed, seeing some part of the text where he sent 'So what now V?', to the unsaved number.
"Just someone." He smirked.
"Is it Veronica? Victoria?" Ronné laughed, mentioning the females at school whose names start with that letter.
"No you nosey girl." He laughed some more, "It's a code name. She told me to call her something. It's hella weird. So I shortened it."
"Oh goodness! Vagina?" Ronné had a repulsed look on her face.
"Believe me, that would be so much better." He laughed again.
"Eww."

Anayah walked into her house and was greeted by the family reunion, which she swiftly went to be a part of. The girls squealed and their parents just laughed and teased."Missed you so much, you snitch." Anayah whispered and Analeigh dramatically wiped tears from her face.
They all got comfy, watching television and asking about Analeigh's trip.
"Goodness mija, where did you get that hideous necklace?" Danilo asked Analeigh.
"I bought it at an antique store not far from Lucero's college, papa." She rolled her eyes and smiled.
It was a Vulture necklace. Anayah stared at it. Her eyes refusing to leave the necklace as she recalled the words of the weird old woman.
