"Ashton's POV"

The rest of the night was so long. People kept coming and leaving and I felt like it was never going to end. I felt so tired, I felt like everything was happening in someone else's world and I was just watching from aside. I guess I was tired of... well, everything. It was already 2 AM and I couldn't process the fact that I should be up for class tomorrow at 9.

Finally, it was 3 AM and I started cleaning the place around. There were still people in, but you knew it was already the end of the night. The cute guy with the notepad finally got up, shot me a quick smile and left the pub. I sighed with comfort. Finally. I could close the place and leave.

I locked the doors of the pub and got into my car. I drove the short distance in silence, beside the soft voice of John Mayer playing through my speakers. I parked my car and got into the house, trying not to wake up my brother and sister.

I got into their room and saw as they both were peacefully sleeping. I couldn't suppress the smile that came to my face. I went straight to my room and collapsed on my bed. Man, I'm so tired... I thought for a couple of minutes until my eyelashes became too heavy to keep open and laid there for another minute when I drifted to sleep, still in my work clothes.

----------------------------

I woke up the next morning, startled, trying to identify the source of the noise that woke me up. After about 10 seconds I figured it was my alarm. I reached my arm for my phone and put the alarm off. I got up and started arranging for the day. I went to wake Harry and Lauren up for school, and waited for them downstairs, making breakfast. We were all finally in the car at 7:45, a bit late. I dropped them off at school. "Have a great day at school, kids!" I yelled after them, but I guess they haven't heard me.

I drove to the direction of my college silently. When I arrived, I got inside, straight to the coffee shop, where I told my friends we'll meet before class started. When I got inside Sophie and Seth were already seated at our regular table. Sophie sat with her back to the window because this way "The light from outside illuminates everybody in the place" and Seth sat in a place that allowed him to check out all the people that came inside the place, especially the girls. But of course it's "just to practice his instincts, to inspect the subconscious interaction between people", so full of himself. "Yes," I used to answer, "Of course".

"Besides, the world is so full of beauty; you may just as well enjoy it". He used to shrug and smile at me.

"It's been a long night, eh?" Seth asked as I got nearer, "You look like shit".

"Wow, thanks Seth, makes me feel so much better." I retorted and then said, "But yeah, it's been a very long night".

"The pub again? You should cut the hours, Ashton, it's not good for you, and you never get any sleep" Sophie said.

"I need the money, Soph, you know that" I answered, sipping the coffee they bought for me before I arrived.

"Admit the fact that you work there just to get someone" Seth said, with a mouthful of pancakes.

"No, Seth, I really am not. But it's a pretty nice addition" I said and we both laughed. My friends don't know that I'm gay, I may be 19, soon 20 years old, but I still haven't told anybody. I don't have time to deal with these kind of things. But I guess I don't really hide it when I'm at work, if a cute guy comes in, I will check him out, just like that amazing guy yesterday.

If to be honest, I couldn't stop thinking about him since he left the pub. I couldn't stop thinking about the next time I'll see him, and I couldn't stop worrying that he may not ever come back. I never felt that desperate to get to know a guy before. There was just something special about him.
