CHAPTER
THREEJane was holding a pistol in her right hand and a grocery bag in the other. I honestly couldn't believe my eyes, I was witnessing my 14 year old best friend rob a CVS with a gun. I assumed the gun was loaded because Jane has crazy fantasies about people trying to kill her. I never thought the tide would change so soon. It was frightening just to see the object stick out of her hands. Beads of sweat ran down the cashiers face.
"H..h..help!" He said shakily
"Jane put down the gun." I said as calmly as I could.
"What are you talking about Jay, this is the most fun thing I've done in forever!"
The way she said it worried me, yet I would not let her see my lack of confidence in my eyes. I realized that she wanted me to be here for this, she asked me if she could go buy gum knowing that I would follow her back. That's what frightened me the most. She wasn't shaking a bit, her extreme amount of confidence in this crime was amazing.
"Graham." I called cautiously
"Yes, Jay?" He called back calmly
"Help me get Jane out of here."
Graham was strong in mind and in muscle, making him the best for this job. I could see that the cashier was very nervous, this meant he was probably pressing the silent alarm.
"Jane he's pushing the alarm!"
"C'mon Jay join in on the fun."
She was crazy right now, it was the only emotion I could see in her eyes. Suddenly a siren appeared in the distance.
"Crap, put the money in the bag!"
"Jane let's go!" I screamed. I didn't want to go to juvenile hall. Graham finally walked over to Jane and slapped her.
"Graham what the hell!" Jane and I both yelled in unision.
"Jane, put down the gun." Graham said peacefully.
"This isn't you, it's the money."
"Your right, but it's so much fun."
The cashier finished packing the money. The siren in the background suddenly split the night and was roaring in our ears. All of the sudden Jane aimed the gun and shot the man in the cheek. Letting out a terrifying groan of pain and a squirt of blood, the man fell motionless onto the cold paneled ground. His scarlet colored blood stained the ground in an almost perfect circle. My face went pale, so did Janes. Graham was stiff but not uncolored.
"Jane what the hell!" I screamed
"I..I..don't know? She said frightened.
Graham spoke up
"We need to leave."
He was right so we all did our best not to throw up as we ran out the front door. The cops were directly in front of us.
"Crap!" I yelled
We ran to the left and just dodged the bright multicolored lights of a cop car. The sirens wouldn't shut up, there were tons of screeching earsplitting vibrations. We finally managed to get to the woods, where we stopped to get our breath under control.
"Jane, what was that?"
"I honestly don't know?"
"Well, we will have to talk about it in the morning."
"Yeah" Jane said relieved.
We all gathered leaves and made small beds to go to sleep in. They were very uncomfortable but they were sturdy enough to hold our weight. Now that we were criminals we were going to have to get used to it.Criminals...
