It's been a month. I haven't managed to press a single key. I'm such a disappointment to the piano...
Snap. The pencil lead broke away under the pressure. I moved an eraser over the scattered pencil marks I had created due to the lack of concentration. I needed to transcribe this music piece by Friday but I wasn't getting anywhere. Sure, I still possessed all the skills I needed for music but my heart just wasn't in it. Ok, that's a B. Bb, it's in F major, idiot. I got another pencil and began to notate onto the partially empty stave. It wasn't long before my mind wandered. Again.
I heard the door swing and turned down the volume of my music so it was barely audible. It was exam week so people coming to the library to revise was pretty common. Concentrate! In a few minutes I was in full swing again and was already three quarters of the way through the song. It turns out that the popular songs nowadays aren't too tricky to transpose so transcribing was even easier. I paused momentarily as a voice caught my attention. It was a soft and delicate melody. The voice belonged to the girl who just walked in.
Kaori? No.
I looked up. I stared. Shit. I should have been more subtle but I had to know. Her voice got quieter as she noticed me looking at her. She lowered her sparkling, blue eyes to meet mine. They were just like... just like yours. Our eyes locked and all I could see was sky for forever. I felt tears swell in my eyes as I remembered you and the memories we made, how you made me the person I am today.  Why were you taken away? Why is everyone I love taken away?! What was sitting here doing  nothing achieving anyway. I am going to start playing the piano again and every line will say ' I love you'.
The girl I met in the library became one of my most reliable friends and she helped me fulfill my wish to keep playing... for you.
