Chapter 11

After about ten minutes Luca responded to me, which was odd for him. I must have caught him off guard. I’m still sitting on the couch talking to Pilar, I feel like we have gotten really close. Pilar grabbed my phone to read the text.

            “Ummm what do you wanna know?”

Luca wrote clearly nervous that I knew her. I wasn’t quite sure what to say so P texted him back,

“Well, I met her today and heard that you two had a thing so I was wondering if there still is?”

That’s a fair question to ask, I almost didn’t want to hear the answer that he was going to give so I just let P read them off as they came in.

“Errmm why would you say that I’m with aren’t I? Besides you don’t need to be getting all-jealous of her, we broke up two years ago. I don’t have any feelings for her so I don’t know why you’d even ask such a stupid question. I thought you were smarter than this. But I thought wrong”

Pilar read out loud, she said the last sentence quietly, clearly taken back from the words she had read. I was too; I had no idea what to say to Luca or what to say to Pilar. I quietly asked for my phone back, and began to type like the wind.

“I know you are but I have the right to know what had happened since she plans to make my life a living hell at practice. SINCE WE’RE ON THE SAME TEAM. Besides that was a fair question to ask you.”

I sent to him, trying to make it quite clear that I was pissed at him. I read the text that I sent to P. As I finished reading Rene and Sergio walked in. By the looks on their faces they have been behind us long enough to hear what we were saying.  Rene came over and politely asked me for my phone. I had completely forgot that he was coming over today. I reluctantly handed it to him. He read through the messages and so did Sergio. They looked at each other and then at me.

            “I knew I didn’t like him!”

Rene shouted, clearly upset that the this happened. Sergio was right he was way more protective.

            “Rene its not that bad I just caught him off guard, he isn’t bad!”

I said trying to get him to relax. He looked at me as if I was crazy.

“I don’t want you getting hurt Isa, so I’ll cut a deal with you. If you really do like him, then you can talk to him about this but if anything this happens again no more.”

Rene said sternly, I nodded and looked to Sergio and he agreed with Rene. I was afraid to start up conversation again with Luca so I turn my phone off and went to help Pilar make dinner. She had the news playing and I saw something that I never wanted to see. The reports said,

“Luca and Carmen are back together! Carmen this morning said that she was leaving the RM team to go to Atlético Madrid. This was shocking news from her, but more so was that fact that she is back with Luca Zinedine who we thought was with Isabella Ramos. I wonder what happened?”

Mortified I just took a seat and pulled my phone out and called Luca up hoping that this was just some stupid rumor that Carmen made up to make me want to break up with Luca. He picked up after the third ring.

            “H: Luca what is going on with you?

              L: What are you talking about Isa is everything ok?

  H: No everything is not ok, when were you planning on telling me that you are back with Carmen?

  L: How do you know that!

  H: I wasn’t born yesterday, its all other the news stupid. I don’t know why I even agreed to date you! You’re just an asshole I hope you’re happy with that bitch of yours.”

With that I hung up and slammed my phone on the today. Pilar, Rene, and Sergio were all looked at me sympathetically. I didn’t want sympathy I wanted to kill Carmen, it’s a good thing she left the team or it was going to go down tomorrow. As far as Luca goes, I’ll find someone better than him.
