We won the battle. I should be happy that the fact Paradox and the other Souless were retreating out of the city. Yet I wasn't. Why? I'll tell you why. Sarah wasn't acting her normal self anymore. She's always so distant...yet it worries me. I only sighed in defeat. My curiosity was winning over my mind. Sarah only remained silent as she turned around and walked off back towards the underground base. I silently followed. Sarah hardly ever spoke a word to me...so why should I care? My mind tells me that I should just mind my own business...but my soul says other wise. After about ten minutes of walking in silence, we, as in Sarah and I, finally got into the Underground base. The hallways were empty because most of the soldiers were out there, checking the casulties and helping the injured, while the civilians stayed safe, locked in the bunkers. We stood in the hallway in abdrupt silence, but then I decided to bite. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing." Sarah simply replied. Typical answer. I silently thought. I stayed on Earth for the past few months, and if it's anything I noticed, it's the fact that girls had the knack to say nothing's wrong, when there absolutely is something wrong. "Doesn't seem like it to me." I answered. "Mind your own business." Sarah argued. I only sighed in annoyance. Sarah was about as stubborn as a girl could get. "If I had minded my own business, I bet I wouldn't be caught in this mess." I admitted. Sarah let out a defeated sigh, then she began to speak. "It's Kira." Sarah admitted. "It's been a little over fifteen thousand years....since he saved me." I glanced at Sarah, arching an eyebrow. "Twenty thousand years ago, I lived on a world that was apart from Gaia and Earth. It was known as Valhalla...the world of the Goddess. It's a world where only Goddesses lived." Sarah continued. "We didn't repopulate by...mating as other creatures do...we had a device that cloned our ancestor's DNA, and create a new being. I was the clone of the Goddess of Harmony: Ikaros...hence my last name." Sarah said as she glanced at me. I averted my gaze to avoid eye contact; Sarah continued on her story. "Five thousand years later, Valhalla came to an end...by the Gods of Devastation." Sarah explained. "Only a handful of us survived. The remaining of us fleed to Gaia, and we lived there for one thousand years...that was until your kind came and kidnapped us, forcing us into slavery." I could've sworn I felt a glare at the end of the sentence, but I shook it off. "I was forced into labor, while the rest were forced into sex slaves...they had found out my ancestor, and used my power to fuel their weapons for war. In the end, I managed to escape...but for ten years...I was running for my life." I glanced at Sarah silently; Slavery has to be one of the worst things a person can go through. "When I was at my end, Kira finally came." Sarah said. "He rescued me. He put a stop to the slavery, but it was too late for my people...I...became the last of my kind." Sarah said with a sad tone in her voice. "He saved me. He gave me a name, a home and a purpose." Sarah stated as she looked at her hand. "Yet here we are, thinking Kira's the one pulling the strings...but that can't be true." Sarah then looked at me with both sadness and confusion in her eyes. "...Right?" Sarah asked. I stared back at her for several seconds, then I sighed in slight defeat, then I averted my gaze. "To be honest, I don't know who's side to take." I admitted. I was truly confused in all this mess, but, I kept going. I didn't stop...I desired more than anything to know my purpose...and know the true reason on how I died. "I just followed where my soul takes me." Sarah stared at me for several seconds before I began to say. "I guess...just follow your soul." I explained. "It'll lead you to the truth." I finished. Sarah was about to say something else, until Xeno interrupted her. "Leon." Xeno called out. I looked back to see Xeno standing in the doorway. "Come with me...it's about time I showed you something." Xeno said, then he walked off. I only blinked...then silently followed.
