Chapter 10

Ella's POV

"Ella!" I hear Chace calling me.

"Chace?" I yell back noticing that Hunter isn't in bed with me anymore.

"Ella!" He screams and I walk out of my room.

I walk down the hallway but it looks different than usual. I walk towards the stairs because I swear I heard his voice coming from there. I walk down the stairs slowly and see only one light coming from under the kitchen door.

"Ella! Help me!" Chace screams again.

"I'm coming Chace!" I yell but then someone grabs me from behind covering my mouth.

The mystery person then forces me into the kitchen where I see my family and friends all dead.

"You are next deary!"

"AHHHH!" I scream as I sit up in bed.

"Ella what's wrong?" Hunter says beside me.

"I-I had a nightmare. Everyone was dead a-and I was going to be killed next." I tell Hunter and start sobbing into his shoulder.

"Shhhh. It will be ok. It was just a bad dream." He says to me.

"Is everything alright? I heard someone screaming. Hunter what are you doing in here?" Austin asks coming into my room.

"She had a bad dream and she asked me to stay with her last night." Hunter tells Austin. I can see the tension in their eyes.

"I'm fine Austin. Go back to bed, try and get some more sleep." I say to Austin.

"Ok, I was just making sure you were alright." He says. "Night Hunter. Goodnight Ella."

"Goodnight Austin." Hunter and I say at the same time as he leaves the room.

"What time is it?" I ask Hunter.

"4:30 in the morning. Probably won't get much sleep now." He says making me laugh a little.

"Do you want to go for swim?" I ask him.

"Sure but I'll have to go to my room and get changed." He tells me.

"Ya so will I." I say and we both laugh. "I'll meet you out there."

I go to my dresser and grab my multicoloured bikini, quickly change out of my pajamas, grab my black towel, and head downstairs. I walk past the kitchen fast still a bit frightened by the dream I had. I get back to the glass sliding door, slide it open and step outside. I being the slowpoke I am, am not surprised when I already see Hunter sitting outside waiting for me. He was wearing only a pair of white swimming shorts.

"You ready to go swimming?" He asks.

"No. I'm ready to clear my head." I say and dive into the water, emerging seconds later.

"Watch out Ella. I'm coming in!" He yells as he dives into the water. "The water is really cold tonight." He says once he emerges.

"Ya I know. It's weird." I say laughing a little bit. "Why did you agree to stay with me last night?"

"Well for awhile at dinner you seemed pretty tense, and the whole thing with your mom, I just thought if you wanted me to stay it was probably for a good reason. So I agreed." He explains to me.

"Well I had a wonderful time at dinner last night. And thank you for staying with me." I say and give him a big hug.

"Isn't weird that we've been friends for almost 15 years?" He asks when I let go of him.

"Ya, because it means our parents are getting old." We both laugh at that comment. "I feel like this summer is going to feel like one of the shortest summers."

"Why is that Ella?" He asks me.

"Because Chace is leaving this year. He may not be here next year. Maybe he'll get a girlfriend and spend all of next summer with her instead of us." I reply.

"You know Chace will come here, even just for a little bit, and if he did get a girlfriend maybe he would bring her with him. You know you are his baby sister and I don't think he would go that long without seeing you." Hunter explains to me.

"I know, but I just feel like everything is slowly changing. There is going to be a year when it may be just me here. Do you know how lonely that will be?" I ask him.

"I can imagine what it would be like; but that year I'll make sure to come and visit no matter what." He tells me sincerity in his eyes.

Just then I hear a car door slam shut, then a car drive away.

"Must be Austin. I wonder where he would be going at this time of 5:27 in the morning." I say to Hunter.

"Ella you know Austin, we may never know."

Austin's POV

"AHHHH!" I hear Ella scream from down the hallway.

I quickly get up out of bed and throw a shirt on and run down the short hallway.

"Is everything alright? I heard someone screaming. Hunter what are you doing in here?" I ask confused as I walk into her room.

"She had a bad dream and she asked me to stay with her last night." Hunter tells me. I can see the anger towards me in Hunters eyes.

"I'm fine Austin. Go back to bed, try and get some more sleep." Ella says to me fear written on her face..

"Ok, I was just making sure you were alright." I say. "Night Hunter. Goodnight Ella."

"Goodnight Austin." Hunter and Ella say at the same time as I leave the room.

I go back to my room and lie down on my bed but soon hear rustling down the hallway again. A couple minutes later I hear the back door shut and splashes in the pool. Ella and Hunter are talking about many things from what I can hear through my window. I need to get out of here. I get up once again grab my phone and dial Jordan's number.

"Hey Austin." His voice sounds through the phone. "What can I do for you at this late hour?"

"Meet me at the place." I tell him.

"Ok I'll be there." He says and I hang up the phone.

I walk downstairs and go outside to my car. I just couldn't stand to listen to Hunter and Ella talk anymore. I drive fast so I can get to Jordan as fast as possible because this needs to be done quickly. I hop out of my car and see that Jordan is already standing there. I cocky smile on his face.

"Did you finally get my money Austin?" He asks and I punch him in the face. "Not a wise move on your part." He says and kicks me down.

He pins me to the ground and punches me. Hard! Why did I even ask him to come here? I think I was just mad at Ella for wanting to spend the night with Hunter, and I'm mad at Hunter for agreeing. I don't fight back against Jordan because I know I won't win now. But he soon lets me go.

"Don't you ever try and attack me again." He spits in my face. All I can taste is blood. "And don't forget about my party tomorrow." He says and walks away.

What have I done. I just made a worse enemy of my enemy and all because I'm mad. I get back in my car and drive home I walk upstairs to the washroom and wash my face up. I go back to my room and just lay in bed but not before shutting the window so I don't have to listen to Hunter and Ella.

Why did she choose him over me?

(A/N: Goodness gracious Austin! Go get some help for your anger issues! Ella's dream seemed pretty serious. I wonder why she had it. And Austin is going to Jordan's party. That means he's the one who pinned Ella to the wall while she was on her date. Lots of trouble up ahead with these hormonal teenagers. But here you go guys yet another chapter of The Summer Bucket List. Hope you like it. Only five days until the next update.
