Since Eden came out with a new song yesterday and my overly active brain wouldn't shut up, I decided to make this

Currently studying so this might be rushed and gross

Also, not a ship, just mindless writing

The rain cascaded heavily down upon him. He was soaked, shivering, cold, but he didn't move an inch. All he did was stare. Time was non-existent, he lost track of it. Had it been hours? Days? Weeks? He could have been standing there forever and he wouldn't know.

All he did was stare at the ground. By his feet stood headstones. But not just any headstones, these were special. One contained the name of someone who he use to call a friend, and another had the name of someone he once knew. The engraved cursive mocked him, the icons imprinted into the stone. He knew it shouldn't affect him now, but it still did, and that's what angered him the most.

It's been a few years since you've been gone
There's been a few tears, but that was years and years ago

He forgot how many years it had been since these headstones were placed in the soil of the cemetery reserved for fallen, honorable citizens. And it just so happened that these two men were placed here, side by side. He forgot how many years it had been since the word-known organized called Overwatch had fallen. He forgot how many years it had been since he watched his friend exhale his final breath in the midst of the destruction.

Or so he thought.

He had spotted him again, older, but still young enough to run around behind a mask and do underground work. He's in hiding, concealing his identity so no one knows that he was back. Heh, pitiful.

Though, he can't say anything himself. He too was running around with a new identity, one that was drastically different from his past one. Well, can he even call it his past one? He never was who everyone thought he was. At least, that's what he was lead to thing. Still, he was the one who made him who he was. He was the one who lead to the destruction of the organization, not him. He turned him into this... thing

Yeah, I grew up to be exactly what you wanted
Yeah, I've been living out the dream that you dreamt up

He didn't think this was how his life was going to play out. Was he complaining? No, he was perfectly content with where he was. Though, his emotions got the best of him sometimes and he would lash out when it wasn't necessary and it would never bode well with his team. Most of the time, however, he was calm. And he still held onto something that he never was going to give up as long as he lived: revenge.

Overwatch was getting back together. He had tried to stop it once, but failed to get all of the names of the ex-soldiers during his last attempt. However, he gained enough to exterminate a good chunk of the organization's past participants. And he thankfully still remembered the core soldiers from the past to be able to track them down. Now since Overwatch will be one again, it will only bring all of his targets together. Oh, how stupid they are.

It's been a few years, but more to come
It's been a few years since I've felt sure of what I want

They had time. They had so much time before they could begin their operation. Which meant that they could watch them from the shadows, analyze their movements and slowly form a plan on how to take down the organization once again. He wanted to work alone, desperately, but his team shared the same resentment for Overwatch that it wouldn't be too much of a bother.

And, speaking of bothers...

And I woke up today and found that you were waiting here for me and I thought
Woah, old friend it's bittersweet
