The Call

Maggie was sitting in the bar, same old story for two months. Sure she was still in the NCPD but it was a weekend, she was off duty. Ever since her and Alex called of their engagement, she'd had a serious drinking problem. Sure she went to AA meetings and stuff but that got really boring really fast.

As she drank her 6th single malt scotch of the night, her phone started to buzz. National City Hospital? Why would they call me, she thought(FYI calls are in bold for one person, and not in bold for the other person.)

"Hello is this Detective Maggie Sawyer?"a woman asked

"Yeah I'm Maggie Sawyer, is there a problem?"she asked.

"We've just had a Ms Alex Danvers come into the National City Hospitals ER, and you are listed as her medical proxy so we were hoping you could come in as soon as possible..."

Maggie heard nothing after that. She hung up the phone, left way too much money on the counter and dashed out of the bar. Damnit can't drive, she thought. I'll just get directions and run, should be what , 10 minutes away from here...

30 Minutes Later

Maggie skidded to a halt at the ER reception."Detective Maggie Sawyer, I was told that Alex Danvers was admitted here"she said, showing the nurse her badge.
"Yes m' am, she sustained 4 GSW's to the leg, shoulder, arm and abdomen. Would you mind telling us what she works as?"the nurse said, typing on the computer."She's a government agent."

No more words were needed after that."Where is she?!"Maggie yelled."Room 114" but m' am are you sure......" There was no use. Maggie was already sprinting. Room 100....106...112. 114 finally. She wrenched the door open.

To be confronted with a blonde woman holding Alex's hand and stroking her hair. Who is this lady, she thought angrily.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!"she yelled, storming into the room. The woman jumped, and suddenly had a very sharp, very point knife against Maggie's throat. Oh shit, she thought.
