Prologue
Asleep. Having a very good one. Dreaming about meeting my all time favorite, Adam Levine. Everything seems perfect. When.....
"DENISE!" I woke up to the sound of my sister's worried and scared voice.
"What?! Who's kidnapped?" I shouted standing up. My eyes betraying me because I was still sleepy. I glanced at my side to see my sister laughing her ass off.
What the hell was that? I gave her a death glare.
She gulped. "Oops. Sorry." she said, still laughing.
"What the hell, Leigh?!" I shouted. "I'm sleeping. School is tomorrow and I still don't have enough sleep. Fuck off, okay?" I smiled sarcastically.
"I have something to tell you." she said, serious face.
"What?" I answered lazily.
She took three deep breaths. What the hell is she going to say?
"OH MY GOD, DENISE! ONE DIRECTION IS VISITING OUR COUNTRY! AMERICA! AFTER A MILLION YEARS OF WAITING! OH MY GOD, ARE YOU NOT EXCITED? I SAW IT IN THE NEWS A WHILE AGO. THEY WILL BE STAYING HERE FOR THREE MONTHS! AND NO ONE KNOWS THE REASON! BUT, OH MY GOD, DENISE!" she whined, barely breathing.
What the hell? She disturbed my beautiful sleep just because of... "ONE DIRECTION, DENISE. ONE DIRECTION! THEY ARE STAYING HERE. OH MY GOD!" Right, One Direction, that 'oh-so-famous freaking boyband'
She was about to continue her whining when I stopped her.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, LEIGH. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'VE AWOKEN ME JUST BECAUSE OF SOME STUPID BOY BAND? WHAT THE FUCK?" I immediately lied back down my bed.
"One Direction is not stupid. I hate you, Denise!" she cried and ran out of the room.
One Direction? My butt. Ugh. I'm going back to sleep.
After a few minutes... It turns out I can't go back to sleep again. I hate my sister sometimes.
By the way, I am Denise Gopman, fifteen, sophomore student from Stanline High.
I hate high school. Yes, I do. I want to freaking graduate right now and start college. What do people like about High School, anyway?
No rules and Free kisses? Oh come on.
Well, I need you to picture that girl, that perfect girl. Who everyone wants to be with, wants to be friends with, wants to sleep with. That girl with a perfect and curvy body, long hair, attractive eyes, beautiful face.
Now, there's me. The complete opposite. But I always receive compliments from my family and relatives. Especially my mother and my aunties. They always tell me I look gorgeous. I would always flash a doubtful look and answer 'No, I don't' and they will reply 'you just don't appreciate true beauty yet' It's always the same argument.
I have fair skin, light brown hair and hazel eyes. What's so gorgeous about that? And yes, I'm American.
I glanced at my alarm clock; 8:50 am. Ugh, so early, thanks a lot to my sister, Leigh.
I stood up and brushed my teeth. And headed downstairs for breakfast. I spotted my mother, Elisse, filling bread with peanut butter on the kitchen counter.
"Good morning." I greeted, lazily.
"Morning." she smiled. "Up so early, eh?" she teased. Yes, I usually wake up at one in the afternoon.
"Thanks to Leigh." I rolled my eyes and grabbed a sandwich.
"Oh, about Leigh," she spoke. "Her favorite band is coming over and she wants to see them." And so? Like I care about 'One Direction'
I gave her a so-what look. "She wants to go to the airport later at ten but I'm leaving----"
I butted in. "Lemme guess. You want me to go with Leigh, right?" I sighed and put my forehead on the counter knowing the answer will, obviously be, yes.
"Come on, Den. She's kind of disappointed right now when you shouted at her. Make it up to her." Mom said. Make it up to her? She'd awoken me up!
"What?! She woke me up then I will make it up to her?!" I am completely annoyed.
"You are the older one, you make it up to her." Leigh is so getting into my nerves. I shook my head. "Raise in allowance." she winked.
Well, she's kinda right. I'm older than Leigh, and I need to be extra patient and loving and caring and everything even if she's fucking annoying. Patience is a freaking virtue, Denise! Do it.
I let out a smirk. "I know you are going to say yes." Mom said.
Part of me wants to make it up to Lei but part of me does not want to.
I pouted. Then after a few seconds, "Alright, fine. But you owe me big time." I reminded her.
She giggled. "Get ready. She does not want to be late."
I rolled my eyes. "Shut up."
I climbed upstairs and took a bath and prepared. It's 9:20 am. And I'm in for an annoying day!
