chapter 3

Scotts pov

 Stiles and I  were walking in the woods trying to find my inhaler and the other half of the body " I don't know what it was. it was like I had all the time in the world to catch them all. and that's not the only weird thing. I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. smell things. " I said "Smell things? like what ?" Stiles said "like mint mojito gum in your pocket," I said " I don't even have any mint mojito..." he said trailing off patting himself down trying to find the gum in his pocket finally pulling it out. I just looked at him like see I told you. "so this all started with the bite." Stiles said, "yeah what if it's like an infection, like my body's flooding with adrenaline before I go into shock or something?" I said "you know what? I actually think I've heard of this. is a specific kind of infection." stiles said "are you serious? " I asked "Yeah, yeah I think is called lycanthropy." he said "what's that? is that bad" I said worried "oh, yeah, its the worst. but only once a month. he said "once a month?' I asked confused "mmm-hmm  but only on the night of the full moon." he says with a howl " hey man," I said hitting him on the shoulder  "Hey, you're the one who heard a wolf howling." he said "hey there could be something seriously wrong with me." I said " I know your a werewolf" he said " okay, obviously I'm kidding. but if you see me in shop class trying to melt all the silver I can find, is 'cause Friday's the a full moon." he said 'no, I could have sworn this was it. I saw the body, the deer came running I dropped my inhaler. Lauren and I got separated' I said moving some leafs " maybe Lauren has your inhaler she might have grabbed it when she woke up and maybe the killer moved the body. " stiles said " she would have given it back and if the killer did, I hope he left my inhaler. those things are like 80 bucks."

Stiles had seen something and hit me on the shoulder "oh"  A guy with dark hair and a leather jacket cam walking up to us " what are you doing here? huh? this is private property. " he said "uh, sorry, man we didn't know. " Stiles said "yeah. we were just looking for something, but... uh, forget it" I said he threw me my inhaler I looked down at my hand he when to turn around but stopped "look out for Lauren better. leaving her like that, hurt like that because the same thing that is happening to you is happening to her" he said walking away "all right, come on, man, I gotta get to work." I said "dude, that was Derek Hale. you remember, right? he's only like a few years older than us" Stiles said " remember what" I asked "his family. they all burned to death in a fire, like, ten years ago. " Stiles said "I wonder what he's doing back' I said stiles scoffs "come on," he said

Laurens pov

"You alright to close up without Scott right now im leaving" my boss said "yeah im good go home you had a long day ill see you tomorrow" I said he walked out the door and I locked it turning the sign that said open the closed after I was sure he was gone I turned my phone on and played some music *bad bitch by Bebe Rexha* blared through the headphones I had when to the bathroom with a hand mirror a bandage and peroxide. when I took off my previous bandage it was soaked in fresh blood I felt the bite. I took off my shirt and looked in the mirror at my neck and put a clean bandage on it   I was pulling a bag of cat food behind me "hey, kitties." I said talking to them I like usually did they just purred in response " hey Ren im sorry im late" Scott said and when he walked into the cat room the cats started screeching "Scott out" I screamed over the cats it has to be him they love me he's a werewolf I have to be something else  " what's up with them tonight" he asked after I calmed the cats down "not a clue" I said walking up to the front

there where rapped pounding on the front door me and Scott looked at each other when me and Scott opened the door there stud Allison with a panicked look on her face "I didn't see it, I took my eyes off the road for, like, two seconds to change the song on my iPod, and then this dog, I just came out of nowhere!" said Allison sobbing "its alright, its all right." said Scott "Allison do you remember where it happened so I can send Animal Control to find it?" I said to Allison "No! I mean, yes, I know where I hit it, but the dog is..." Allison said, "where is it?" I asked "it's in my car." she said me and Scott follow Allison to her car to go look at the dog when we opened the trunk where the dog was  barking and growling " you okay?" Scott asked Allison she nodded her head "she's just frightened." I said, " that makes two of us." Allison said " let me see if I have any better luck," Scott said when Scott looked at the dog with yellow eyes the dog was instantly fine it whimpered and would allow us to touch her. we brought her inside and laid her on the table "I think her leg is broken.  I've seen the doctor do plenty of splints. I can do it myself and then give her a painkiller for now." he said then looked at Allison "yeah, I have a shirt in my bag" Scott said "Scott ill give her my extra one I don't think her dad would like her to come home in a Guy's shirt" I said to Scott "oh, I don't want to trouble you guys" Allison said we both looked at her then reached in to our bags I handed my extra shirt to her then Scott handed me his "I know you can't stand to be in wet clothes" Scott said I when into one of the back rooms where Allison walked off to, to change my shirt "what I didn't see anything and Laurens my best friend ew" I heard Scott say he was talking to the dog no doubt

after I got his shirt on I double checked all the animals to see if they had food and water. before I when back to them I stopped to hear their convo  "so you and Lauren" Allison " what do u mean me and Lauren we are just friends" said Scott. I decided to walk in "Allison you have nothing to worry about he's like my little brother" I said with a smile she just smiled and nodded her head " thanks for doing this. I feel really stupid." Allison said to Scott as he was finishing the splint "how come?" Scott asked " I don't know. 'cause I freaked out like a total girl.' said Allison "you are a girl." I said, " I freaked out like a girly girl, and I'm not a girly girl." Allison said, "what kind of girl are you ?" Scott asked "tougher than that. at least, I thought I was." Allison said "Hey, I'd be freaked out, too. in fact, I'd probably cry. and not like a man, either. like the biggest girly girl ever." Scott said Allison giggled "it'd be pathetic," I said "yeah, right," Allison said Scott sighed "so, it looks like she's gonna live." Scott said Allison nodded " im pretty sure she'll even let you pet her now if you want, " I said touching the dog's head "I don't think so." Allison said " oh come on. you don't want her to sue. I hear this breed is very litigious" I said Allison finally gave in and petted the dog "see she likes you." Scott said " what?" Allison said after Scott looked at her for a while "I don't know. sorry. you have an eyelash on your cheek." Scott said "oh. it forms the crying." Allison said she takes her hand and wipes her cheek but doesn't get the eyelash "here" said Scott grabbing the eyelash from her cheek "thanks" Allison said "yeah." Scott said

Scott walked Allison out and I stayed inside not wanting to be the third wheel I had a feeling Scott was going to ask her to Jackson's party Friday I was getting ready to shut all the lights off and get ready to go home when Scott came back in " you ready" I asked "yeah let me get my bag" he said he came back to where I was standing "you want a ride?" I asked "no im good you go home ill see you tomorrow"

on the way home I could feel a white burn where I was bitten I didn't know what to think about it so I texted Derek 'hey what does it mean when it burns' he texted me back within a minute ' I don't know but I will call you tomorrow to check up on you. get some rest goodnight' ' okay goodnight'

when I got to the house the only light that was on in the house was the upstairs hallway light shining down the stairs mom must have left them on for me I walked up to the stairs and into my room, I got my clothes from my drawer and went into the bathroom to take a shower. the shower felt amazing on my skin like thousands of drops of water casting down my delicate skin warming it. when I finally got out I was pruned and ready for bed when I got in bed I fell into a dreamless sleep
