Chapter 1
The day was no different than yesterday, the day before, nor tomorrow. Dark, upset layers of cloud covers the sky like a thin blanket. Not to mention things get worse when it starts to rain. Monster size raindrops that weigh up to half a pound smashes onto the earth surface in this area. Let me tell you; it isn't fun getting hit by one on the head. Last time that happened, I felt my skull cracked after an attack of countless drops rain onto me.
In Michigan, there is unbelievably cold and wet weather combined, making air sticky all the time. My trains of thoughts were interrupted as a flash of lighting struck, with the following loud thunder. I flinch my head away from the living room.
Yeah, this wasn't the best place for sitting during a thunderstorm. I studied as the rain gets more heavier and I could barely see what in the world was going on out there. Right away , the front door swung open, you can hear a the band of drops splashing on Ashley'a driveway.
"Amy?",Ashley called out. Ashley didn't look like her age; twenty-five, in fact she looks like an aunt to me. With wrinkles appearing on the side of her face, her dark gray eyes and not to mention her slow movements. That's why I don't smoke like Ashley.
"I'm here," softly I answered as usual, walking back to the small kitchen. There were at least 3 groceries on the dining table. Her back was facing me as she was on a scavenger hunt in her hundred purse.
"Shoot," Ashely whispered but audible for me to hear, " I forgot my phone in the store!"
This why I usually think I'm the more mature one in this house.
Seriously, who forgets their phone in a store? Without saying another word, Ashley literally storm out of the kitchen and into her red jeep. I watched as she drove off to the distance to the point where she was no longer in sight. I sigh while closing the door preventing any rain to come in. Returning to the living room, I settled myself in the red cushioned chair, sinking in because of my weight- I didn't weigh that much though. Reaching for a book, my fingers gripped onto a hard cover one and brought it onto my lap. It was just a blank brown cover, no words or designs, nothing. I studied it for another few seconds. Until I flipped to first page, it wasn't a book, someone wrote into this; it's like a journal.
'It has been days since I have the eerie feeling someone is watching me. Since that night, he said he'll come back and kill me, I try to call the police and they weren't much of a help. I asked my sister if I could move in with her since she lives all the way Texas, he can never find me there.I have to be on alert for now...'
I stopped reading this paragraph. Did Ashley wrote this? Honesty, it made my heart bearing faster and goosebumps all over my body. Chills ran down my spine. Who would be stalking her and threaten to kill her? Another crack of thunder startle me, I jumped in the air. Placing a hand over where my heart should be. That's it, I'm going to bed.
Shuffling and moving was I can do. Ashely has return about 20 minutes ago and went to her room. The loud storm was still here, I groaned as I laid on my back, starring at the white ceiling above me.
Crash!
I shot up as I heart like a dish or case broke. Thinking it was Ashley, I hopped out of my bed and stepping down the stairs quietly. There was no light, as I reach the last step, my bare foot touched a piece of something sharp. I winced lightly, squinting my eyes, I notice it was a china bowl but how did get it here?
"Ashley?" I called out, no response. I called her names quietly around the house, no reply. A wave of lighting came and thunder crashed, making this like a horror movie. A pair of footsteps began running, like it was right behind me.
"Huh?" I spun around, seeing nothing but the wooden stair case. Just as I went to face front, my eyes came to have contact with a pare of icy light blue eyes that seems they don't blink. This wasn't Ashely, her eyes are brown! Like I had no choice, I screamed and made a run for it at the stairs. I heard the person laugh manically, it was a male. He chased up the stairs, almost catching up to me, I made a turn to the Long hallway.
"Shouldn't you be in bed? Don't worry I will help you go to sleep," he yelled. Tears was streaming down my face, I try to open to the bathroom and close it right when the insane person was about to come in. Vicious thuds were coming on the other side, from his foist banging at the door.
"Amy?" I heard Ashley'a voice on the other side of the wall of the bathroom. Her room was next to this bathroom. As the banging becomes kicking at the door, I screamed so loud.
"Ashley call the police! Call the police! Someone is trying to kill me!"
The door went down, knowing the hinges are broken. I glanced at the man, he had a knife in his right hand, covered with dried blood. He charged at me, I try to run, luckily the knife only hit my hip not my chest. I cried in agony as I fell onto the floor, holding my bleeding hip. He hovered me, with those deadly blue eyes as jet black hair down to his shoulders, what I didn't notice, two lines cut into his cheeks forming a smile. He smiled for real, before raising his knife again.
Blue and red lights appeared from bathroom window, with a siren coming alone. He muttered few curse words and pointed his knife tips towards me.
"You are on my list now," he growled before he jumped on the sink and leaped at the bathroom window, making it shattered into million pieces. I cried even more as the pain was getting more intense. Blood was all over the white tiles of the bathroom floor, my blood. Ashley came into the bathroom and kneeled next to me, she gasped as she saw the blood leaking my pajamas.
"Don't worry Amy, you will be okay, you will be okay," she cooed at the police came in the house. I held onto my hip and sigh, I couldn't move.
Nothing will be okay
