Kayla's POV

September 1st,

My first day of my freshman year of high school.

Okay okay, I have to admit, I was a little scared

Okay I was scared a lot....

See, at my school there are 5 elementary schools

2 middle schools

And

one

huge

high

school.

In total, there were 3500 kids in the grades 9-12

I woke up at 6:10 and did my normal routine.

I decided to straighten my already kinda straight hair just to look a little nicer.

I ran down to the bus stop with my little sister, Kelsey.

As soon as the bus came, I looked around for any one I knew that I could sit next to.

My only friend that lived on my street moved away during the summer. He was my bus buddy and I miss him :((

There was this cute boy wearing a tie-dye bandana and I asked if I could sit next to him.

"Nah sorry, seat's reserved for someone" he said looking up at me.

"Hey uh you can sit here..." A guy a few seats back said quietly.

He had dark hair and dark eyes and he was pretty cute

"Thanks" I said, sitting down

We rode to school together and talked for a while.

"Oh and by the way, my names Jack, Jack Gilinsky"

"Kayla Hamilton" I said back.

First period came and I had English.

Again, I saw that guy wearing the tie-dye bandana. And HOT DANG was he cuteeee

Jack was also in that class

I smiled at him when I walked in but he just kinda glanced at me.

I think I was in the same science class as him in 7th grade but who can remember that far back.

The rest of the morning I didn't see the bandana dude or Jack.

*Lunch bell rings*

As I walked into the cafeteria I sat down with my friend, Courtney.

"Have you seen Jack G?, he got totally hot over the summer" she started

"No not really I haven't noticed him much" I replied even though I was staring at bandana guy

"Why are you looking at Taylor?" She asked

"Is that his name? I like that name. Yeah that's a good name" I said still looking at him

She nudged me to get my attention

"Seriously he's an a*s like you shouldn't be interested in him!" She said

"How do you even know that? Rumors?"

"No, I had study hall with him last year, he made out with like every girl except me."

"Well that doesn't prove he's a jerk. Maybe he's a really good kisser"

"Oh my god stop" she said laughing

"I-" I started to say something before Courtney cut me off

"Shhhh here comes Jack!!" She said fixing her hair

He threw his trash away and then turned towards us.

"Hey Kayla so, how's lunch?" He said blushing

"Pretty good" I said extremely awkwardly

"Well uh bye" he said back his face pink

"Wow. He didn't even look at me." Courtney started

"Don't worry about him. Maybe he just didn't see you"

*Last period of the day*

I have last period of the day, Home Ec. with Taylor and Jack.

I honestly don't know why they took home Ec 😂

Every time I looked up, Jack was staring at me and he would glance away like he's not staring at me.

But I'm sorry jack, but I kept looking at Taylor who was sitting next to jack.

Today we baked bread. Jack asked me to help knead his bread. (He obvi wanted me to put my hands on his hands and show him) so I did, and he was blushing a lot

"Taylor do you need any help?" I turned towards him and asked.

"Uh I mean yeah I cant get it to stop sticking to the rolling pin?" He said back

"You just put a little but of flower on the rolling pin and the dough and you should be fine." I told him

"Hey thanks- and by the way, I didn't catch your name," he asked

"Kayla Hamilton, we have lunch together"

"Ah cool- I'm Taylor Caniff"

I looked over and saw jack with a dirty look on his face

Wonder what his problem was
