When Connie reached her family mansion, she immediately noticed something was wrong.

The plants had flourished since her last visit and the trees had fruit on them. Usually, her uncle, Hugh, was not a fan of gardening, nor was Simon, but she couldn't find an explanation to the state of the grass and flowers.

Anyway, she decided that answers can only be given inside the house, so she knocked the heavy, wooden door.

She heard steps coming towards her and then, a familiar face appeared from the open door.

"Aunt Godiva?" Connie stood in surprise, unable to react. Last time she saw her aunt was two years ago, when she decided to travel to the Amazon to join a campaign who aimed at the rescue of the rainforests.

Godiva hugged Connie so hard she almost couldn't breathe. After half a minute, she let go of her beloved niece, allowing her to breathe again.

"What are you doing here?" asked Connie out of curiosity.

"Well, you really didn't think that you would get away with what happened in summer, did you?" replied Godiva, smiling at Connie.

"Defeating Kullervo... I am sure all universals would be proud of you." she added, tears falling on her face.

"How long will you be staying?" Connie wanted to know.

"A week or so, I 'm afraid. I wish I could stay longer, but unlike the Society, the Amazon still needs my help."

"Shame. Is Simon in there?" Connie pointed towards the inside of the house, suddenly remembering the true reason of her visit.

"Sadly, no." Godiva said. "He went off training with that lion, Rex, early this morning. I think he would stay for lunch at Evelyn's."

"Ok, thanks! I'll come over later." Connie was about to leave when she noticed her old bike tilting against the wall. She pulled it and looked at it wondering "How about a ride instead of a walk?" She climbed on her bike and started pedalling quickly to her house.

Distracted by the view of the gulf, she didn't see the dark figure spying on her behind a tree.
