A Twist of Fate (Kamigami No Asobi)

Chapter 9

It's been two days since Loki, Balder, and I went to the beach and I've noticed that Balder's been very distant toward all of us since. He's even being distant from his own brother! So today I decided it was time to talk to Loki about this. "Loki I'm worried about Balder," The god of mischief tilted his head in confusion. 

"What do you mean you're worried about Balder, my kitten?" he asked turning to look at me. I gave him a look of disapproval.

"Are you seriously telling me that even though you are, or at least were very close to his and yet you can't tell something is wrong with him?" By now Loki looked completely confused and a little terrified due to my upset tone. "I asked Balder two go to the beach with us two days ago because I noticed that ever since we confessed to each other you haven't been spending much time with him. Now ever since the Beach, I've noticed that Balder has become very distant from everyone," I explained.    

Loki's eyes widened in realization.  "Kitten, what have I done?!" he cried. I brought him into a tight hug and rubbed his back. 

"Hey, you can still fix this. You guys are friends, close friends. I'm sure if you apologize for focusing all your time on me he will understand and forgive you," I said trying to cheer him up. Loki pulled away from the hug and gave me a serious look.

"We have to find him before the darkness takes him over," Before I could ask what he meant Loki grabbed my hand and started running. 

"L-Loki!?" I cried. "What do you mean 'before the darkness takes him over'?" I asked. Loki stopped running and looked at me before letting out a heavy sigh.

"Balder is the god of light but he is also the god of destruction. When his emotions get overwhelming, his powers go out of control and he becomes the god of destruction," he explained.  The look of worry consumed my features as I looked into the red-haired god's eyes. Suddenly the sky went dark and the atmosphere grew heavy. 

"Loki you go find Balder and I'll get the others," I told him. He looked as though he wanted to say no but he gave me a nod and went to find Balder. I ran into the academy building as Thor, Apollon, Hades, Dionysus, Tsukito, and Takeru looked at me shocked. "Balder's losing control of his powers!" I cried. 

"What?!" they all yelled.  

"Loki went to go find him but he's gonna need everyone's help," I said lightly shaking.  Apollon put a hand on my shoulder. 

"Don't worry Susaki chan. We'll find him and everything will be fine," he said giving me a reassuring smile. I smiled back and gave him a nod. 

"Alright then, let's go!"
