I tried calling Calix but his cellphone is turned off. I messed up big time. I was about to sulk under my comforter again when the door to my room opened wide.

"Alex!" Alyssa greeted as she entered.

I smiled feeling happy that my best friend is here. I bet she would know just what to do.

"Hey!" I said as she kissed me on the cheek.

"I brought you chocolates!" She said handing me a paper bag full of assorted chocolate bars.

"Thanks!" I said. She knows that I love chocolates and that I need the sugar rush to boost me.

I started nibbling on a Snicker bar.

Alyssa started telling me stories about Makati and her life. I am sure she wants to preoccupy my mind and take me away from my painful thoughts.

"Ummm... Alyssa, have you heard from Calix?" I asked. I am dying to know so I just had to cut her with her story about her new project.

She shook her head. I felt tears form in my eyes.

"I was so stupid. He loved me truly and deeply but I pushed him away. Now he is gone for good."

"Alex, stop blaming yourself in everything that happens, okay? It's not yet too late. We can still find him," Alyssa said smiling. That statement and smile gave me hope.

"Really? You will help me?" I asked cheerfully.

She nodded while saying, "I think that is the most stupid question you've asked. We are best friends of course I will in any way help you!"

I hugged her and we laughed together. I will forgive her for calling me stupid just for today. Because I really feel that I am. Stupid to let go of the one guy who truly loved me. I hope he still loves me.

I went with Alyssa at Makati. I will stay for a couple of weeks at her condo; a very familiar place.

Alyssa knows the building where Calix is working and she also knows the village where he lives. Yes, we will probably stalk him. We will actually look for him then I will get him back. I will do everything to get him back. Thank God for Alyssa.

We went to his office but the receptionist said that he called in sick.

"He is sick? I don't think so." I shook my head and looked at Alyssa questioningly. I am hopeless.

She smiled at me, "Let us try his house."

Alyssa drove to the village where Calix is living. She knows the place but not the exact location of the house. We asked the village guards and pretended that we were visiting someone sick in their family. They gave us the directions. Alyssa's charm worked.

We are now in front of Calix's house. I was about to come out of the car when I saw Calix walking out of the brown gate with a girl. He is holding the girl's hand and pulling her out of the house. The girl was seemingly resisting trying to come back inside. His eyebrows are raised and he seems irritated.

I banged Alyssa's car door to close it as I climbed back.

"Easy. I am pretty sure you are creating stories in your head now," Alyssa said.

I think the banging car door caught Calix's attention because he is now walking towards us. Why did Alyssa choose not to have her car tinted? It was too easy for Calix to see us.

"Drive!" I told Alyssa.

But she didn't move.

"Hey!" I shouted.

She shook her head. "No way! You need to talk. That is what we came here for"

It was too late anyway. Calix is now standing at my side knocking at the window. I had no choice. I opened the door and went out.

He was looking at me. His beautiful brown eyes are hard not to notice but they still seem tired. Has he been sleepless thinking about me? Has he been crying because he missed me?

"I just came to say hi. But I guess you are busy. So we are leaving now," I said and turned to ride the car again. I noticed that the girl finally left. I did not see though if she took a cab or she drove her own car.

He gently pulled me close to him and hugged me tightly. I could feel his heart beating so fast.

"Don't be silly, babe. I guess I know why you are acting like that. And it makes me smile knowing that you are jealous," he said smiling widely.

I pushed him and gave him a grim look. But he looks so cute smiling like a teenage boy.

He held my hand while saying, "That woman you saw with me earlier is my nosy sister. She wanted to stay with me in this house because she is worried that I might end up killing myself in misery."

I sighed in relief and even if I am ashamed of my reaction yet again, I hugged him. He smiled again. He held me closer and he kissed me on the lips.

I heard Alyssa honking and she shouted, "I think everything is okay now. Will leave you there first."

I smiled and waved goodbye. I put a mental note not to forget to thank my best friend later.

Calix pulled me inside his house.

"Sorry, I was stubborn," I said shyly.

"Hush," he said and he pulled me so that I am now sitting on his lap. "Let us forget the past. Let us just start again," he added.

He then held my cheeks with both his hands. He kissed me tenderly then hungrily. He held me closer to him. I was crying; tears of joy.

"I love you, babe," he whispered to my ear as he wiped my tears with his thumb.

"I love you too, Calix."

"Don't ever push me away again, babe."

"Never."

"Promise?"

"Promise!"

"I love you, babe!"

"I love you more."

"I was so scared when you pushed me away. I thought you would never let me come back to your life."

"I was a mess. I was too hurt. I did not know what I was getting rid of."

"Tell me about it. I really am happy now."

"Me, too."

"I so..."

I did not let him finish. I kissed him. "Could we talk later?" I asked then I reached for his lips again. He was laughing in between our kisses.

"Shut up and kiss, babe. I missed you!" I said. I think it is clear to him now. He held me tight against his body and kissed me passionately.

We held each other and kissed the whole morning. I love Calix very much. Thank God for bringing Calix back to my life. I will never ever leave him and never ever let him leave me. Because of him I learned what true love is. It is not just those sweet words or passionate kisses. True love is accepting the imperfections. Accepting the twists and riding on together.
