She grabs her Chemistry text book and quickly shuts her locker creating a reverberation.

The hallways contained about five people, all minding their own business. This was The usual mood of Avecraft High students. The cold winter air swept through the classroom once she opened the door. The stares of about fifteen people were obtained by her presence and then, the whispering began. With a quick eye roll her textbook hit a desk nearer to the door as she took a seat.

It wasn't long before a group of rowdy jocks walked into the classroom.
"I knew the stench of stupidity wasn't far." She thought.

The only reason why they weren't as nerve-wracking as they usually were was because their ring leader was fighting for his life in hospital.

"Talk about answered prayers." Another thought made itself known throughout her body.

The Chemistry teacher, Mr Alecc was about to speak when the the speaker in the corner of the room crackles to life signalling the beginning of the morning's announcements.

"Good morning fellow Hornets! Just a quick update on this week's events..."

It was always easy for her to push out 'irrelevant' information from her head. Zoning out seemed to be an effortless job though she enjoyed it as much as others liked to socialize.

"...and finally some news on our Class President: thankfully, he is now conscious and is most likely to report to school next week--" More aggravated cackling.

"That is all."

"Well, I take back my comment on 'answered prayers'."

Mr Alecc tried to control the class for about thirty minutes. She found it sad that he put So much effort in educating an ungrateful bunch of teenagers. And so the Chemistry lesson passed by with a bunch of idle minds, conversations and tattered notebooks.

She grabs her textbook and walks out of the classroom before the bell rings. The hallway is crowded now. Discussion groups were practically everywhere. She kept her moderate step in the direction of the staircase hoping to pass by without attracting unnecessary attention.

"Hey Artemis."

Internally sighing she gave a small smile at the familiar redhead who passed her as she neared the staircase.

"Hey Char." She spoke sweetly and set her  gaze back to its previous spot.

She hopped up the steps and proceeded down the hall. Once she got to the second floor a small yelp left her lips when a pair of big arms wrapped themselves around her body. You couldn't describe the confusion roaming her mind when she stated at her legs and finally her body being hoisted off the ground. Her first decision was to panic but with her inability to scream she was better off  thinking of another plan.

"Someone's a little too eager to get to class today."

"Of all ways to get my attention June, this I the most...original." She said sarcastically.

The very familiar female gave her one of the girl's famous 'pretty girl' smirks and Artemis couldn't help but give one of her very own famous eye rolls. She tends to do that alot.

"Okay Mal, you can put her down now."

She watched her feet slowly touch the tiled floor. Her navy blue converse giving a small screech as she quickly verified that gravity was once in control of her body again.

"Hey big guy, how are you?" His huge fist collided with hers probably creating the most epic fist pump ever. Even though he is practically three inches taller than Artemis, his enormous yet buff-ish kind of build made her look like his cousin in freshman year.
